Y: In Chinese, the date is pro<\/em>nounced by combining the numbers 1 to 31 with \u53f7, which is the spoken form, or \u65e5, the written form. For example you could say \u56db\u6708\u4e8c\u5341\u4e03\u53f7 April the 27 (\u53ef\u4ee5\u7075\u6d3b\u8c03\u6574\u65f6\u95f4). The pro<\/em>nunciation of\u53f7 is similar to that of \u597din the sentence \u6211\u5f88\u597d. The difference lies in the tone. \u53f7 is the fourth tone; and \u597d is the third tone.

C: Well, Saturday is\u661f\u671f\u516d(x\u012bngq\u012b liù). And Sunday is \u661f\u671f\u4e03. (x\u012bngq\u012b q\u012b).
Y: No no… for Sunday it’s different. In China people would say \u661f\u671f\u5929.\u5929. You can also say \u661f\u671f\u65e5. Both are okay for saying Sunday in Chinese. <\/span>
