What do we have planned for today, Yajie?<br \/>  Yajie:  Well, we&rsquo;ve been learning how to talk a<em><\/em>bout jobs. \u4f60\u5728\u54ea\u5de5\u4f5c\uff1fLiterally,  wher do you work? But when you meet a student without a job, what would  you say to start the conversation?<br \/>  Cam: That&rsquo;s a good question.&nbsp; Let&rsquo;s find out in Key Words of the Day.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>  <strong>Key Words of the Day<br \/>  <\/strong>\u4f60\u5728\u54ea\u513f\u4e0a\u5b66\uff1fwher do you study?  \u4e0a\u5b66, go to school or study.&nbsp; \u5b66\u751f, student, University, \u5927\u5b66\uff1bMiddle school,  \u4e2d\u5b66\uff1bPrimary school\u5c0f\u5b66. All in today&rsquo;s Chinese Studio.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>  Cam: Hey  Yajie, today&rsquo;s topic is really timely. I am actually meeting with some  university students next week to help them learn English.&nbsp; Now I can  practice my Chinese, too!&nbsp;&nbsp; <br \/>  Yajie: Good times. In Chinese, student is \u5b66\u751f.<br \/>  Cam: \u5b66\u751f(xue2 sheng1), student. How a<em><\/em>bout university student? <br \/>  Yajie: \u5927\u5b66\u5b66\u751f University student\u3002University, \u5927\u5b66. \u5927, d-a, fourth falling tone.  Basically it means &lsquo;big&rsquo;. And \u5927\u5b66\u5b66\u751f can also be shortened to just\u5927\u5b66\u751f <br \/>  Cam: I see. \u5927\u5b66\u5b66\u751f (da xue xue sheng) and \u5927\u5b66\u751f(da xue sheng) are the same. Both mean university student. <\/p>\n<p>  Conversation1:<\/p>\n<p>  Yajie:  \u4e0a\u5b66\uff0c go to school or study. \u4e0a, sh-ang, fourth tone. \u4e0a means to go. And  \u5b66, as we mentio<em><\/em>ned just now, x-ue, second tone, which means school.&nbsp; <br \/>  Cam: \u4e0a\u5b66, go to school. \u4f60\u5728\u54ea\u513f\u4e0a\u5b66 (ni3 zai4 nar3 shang4 xue2)\uff1f wher do you  study? Ni3 means you, zai nar is at wher, and shang xue is study.&nbsp;  wher do you study?<br \/>  Yajie: \u6211\u5728\u5317\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u4e0a\u5b66\u3002I study at Peking University.  Cam, you know, Peking University, \u5317\u4eac\u5927\u5b66, is one of the most prestigious  universities in China. <br \/>  Cam: Yes, I&rsquo;ve heard of it. (wo zai Beijing da xue shang xue). <\/p>\n<p>  Conversation2:<\/p>\n<p>  Cam: Yajie, how do you say middle school and primary school in Chinese?<br \/>  Yajie: Middle school. \u4e2d\u5b66.\u4e2d, zh-ong, first tone, means &lsquo;middle&rsquo;. And primary school is \u5c0f\u5b66 (xiao). <br \/>  Cam: I know \u5c0f means &lsquo;little or small&rsquo;. <br \/>  Yajie: Right. \u5c0f\u5b66, primary school.<br \/>  Cam:  It&rsquo;s funny. \u5c0f\u5b66, primary school, literally means &lsquo;small school&rsquo;.  \u4e2d\u5b66\uff0cmiddle school. And \u5927\u5b66, university, &lsquo;big school&rsquo;\u3002Easy to remember.<\/p>\n<p>  Conversation3:<\/p>\n<p>  Cam:\u5c0f\u5f20\u5728\u54ea\u513f\u4e0a\u5b66(xiao3 zhang1 zai4 nar3 shang4 xue2)\uff1f wher does Xiao Zhang study?<br \/>  Yajie: \u5979\u5728\u4e2d\u5b66\u4e0a\u5b66 (ta1 zai4 zhong1 xue2 shang4 xue2)\u3002She is studying at the middle school. So she is a middle school student. \u4e2d\u5b66\u751f.<br \/>  Cam: \u4e2d\u5b66\u751f(zhong1 xue2 sheng1), a middle school student\u3002So \u5c0f\u5b66\u751f(xiao3 xue2 sheng1) must be a primary school student\u3002 <br \/>  Yajie:  Right.
