Nanxi Tanhuang\uff0cperformed in a form of storytelling and singing, was originated from and pre<\/em>valent in the central and western areas of Zhejiang Province including Nanxi, Jinhua, Quzhou and other places.
\u76f8\u4f20\u6e05\u4e7e\u9686\u672b\u5e74\uff0c\u4e00\u4f4d\u53bf\u8859\u4e2d\u7684\u5b98\u5dee\u516c\u52a1\u4e4b\u6687\u5728\u5170\u6eaa\u96c6\u5546\u8d3e\u5b50\u5f1f\u4f20\u6388\u7531\u6c5f\u82cf\u4f20\u6765\u7684"\u644a\u7c27"\u66f2\u8c03\uff0c\u91c7\u7528\u5f53\u5730\u65b9\u8a00\u6f14\u5531\uff0c\u501f\u4ee5\u6d88\u95f2\u81ea\u5a31\uff0c\u4e45\u800c\u4e45\u4e4b\uff0c\u9010\u6e10\u53d1\u5c55\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u5177\u6709\u81ea\u8eab\u4f53\u7cfb\u7684\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u3002\u81f3\u5149\u7eea\u4e8c\u5341\u516d\u5e74\uff0c\u5170\u6eaa\u57ce\u533a\u51fa\u73b0\u4e86\u4e13\u95e8\u6f14\u5531\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u7684"\u4f59\u5e86\u793e"\uff0c\u540e\u6613\u540d\u4e3a"\u7fa4\u4e50\u4f1a"\u3001"\u548f\u6625\u4f1a"\u3002\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u4e00\u65f6\u8d8b\u4e8e\u5174\u76db\u3002\u6297\u65e5\u6218\u4e89\u65f6\u671f\uff0c\u57ce\u533a\u827a\u4eba\u907f\u96be\u4e61\u4e0b\uff0c\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u968f\u4e4b\u800c\u4f20\u5165\u5170\u6eaa\u4e61\u6751\u7684\u6c38\u660c\u3001\u8bf8\u845b\u3001\u6e38\u57e0\u7b49\u5730\u3002
It is said that Nanxi Tanhuang was initiated by an official of Nanxi Government in the last years of the reign of Qianlong Emperor in the Qing Dynasty. In his spare time, the official called up upper-class juniors and instructed them the tunes of "Tanhuang" which was introduced from Suzhou. They performed Tanhuang in Nanxi dialect to recreate and enjoy themselves. As time went on, it evolved to be Nanxi Tanhuang with its own system and characteristics. In the 26th year during the reign of the Guangxu Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, a troupe exclusively performing Nanxi Tanhuang emerged in urban Nanxi. It was known as "Yu Qing She (Our Celebrity Society)" at first, and renamed as "Qun Le Hui (Group Jollity Society)", "Yong Chun Hui (Spring Panegyric Society)" later. Thanks to such troupe, Nanxi Tanhuang became a popular fad at that time. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, as the urban artists sought asylum in the countryside, Nanxi Tanhuang was transferred to Yongchang, Zhuge, Youbu and other villages of Nanxi.
\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u6587\u8f9e\u5178\u96c5\uff0c\u6f14\u5531\u8bb2\u7a76\u5b57\u6e05\u8154\u7eaf\u548c\u5b57\u6b63\u8154\u5706\uff0c\u4e00\u76f4\u4e3a\u6587\u4eba\u96c5\u58eb\u6240\u559c\u597d\u3002\u6d41\u98ce\u6240\u53ca\uff0c\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u5750\u5531\u73ed\u4ea6\u4ee5\u81ea\u547d\u98ce\u96c5\u8005\u4e3a\u591a\uff0c\u5531\u594f\u8005\u591a\u7a7f\u957f\u886b\uff0c\u4e3e\u6b62\u6587\u96c5\uff0c\u7d20\u6709"\u644a\u7c27\u5148\u751f"\u4e4b\u79f0\u3002\u5750\u5531\u73ed\u9664\u5e94\u6210\u5458\u95f4\u4eb2\u670b\u597d\u53cb\u4e4b\u9080\u4e3a\u559c\u5e86\u52a9\u5174\u6216\u656c\u795e\u732e\u5531\u5916\uff0c\u4e00\u5f8b\u4e0d\u641e\u7ecf\u8425\u6027\u5531\u594f\u3002\u7531\u4e8e\u6d3b\u52a8\u65b9\u5f0f\u4ec5\u9650\u4e8e\u7231\u597d\u8005\u4e4b\u95f4\uff0c\u4f20\u5e03\u4e0d\u5e7f\uff0c\u52a0\u4e0a\u6218\u4e71\u5f71\u54cd\uff0c\u81f320\u4e16\u7eaa40\u5e74\u4ee3\u672b\u671f\uff0c\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u51e0\u8fd1\u7edd\u54cd\u3002
Nanxi Tanhuang boasts elegant and quaint lyrics and its performance requires clear articulation and full and proper tune. This may account for why it had long been favored by many scholars and persons of refined tastes. Following the old fashion passed down to that time, a majority of other performance troupes regarded themselves as graceful and elegant people. The performers often wore long grown and acted in decent manners, for which they were called as "Mr. Tanhuang". Additionally, the performance troupes o<\/em>nly gave a performance for celebration or religious activities at the invitation of relatives or friends, and they were never engaged in commercial performance. Since it was o<\/em>nly performed among enthusiasts and fans, Nanxi Tanhuang didn’t have a large popularity in the early stage. What’s worse, affected by the wars, Nanxi Tanhuang bordered on extinction in the end of the 1940s.
\u540e\u6765\uff0c\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u8bb8\u591a\u4f18\u7f8e\u7684\u5531\u8154\u66f2\u8c03\u88ab\u5a7a\u5267\u5438\u6536\u3002\u8fd0\u7528\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u521b\u7f16\u7684\u5a7a\u5267\u300a\u674e\u6e14\u522b\u4f20\u300b\u3001\u300a\u82e6\u83dc\u82b1\u300b\u548c\u300a\u50e7\u5c3c\u4f1a\u300b\u7b49\u7531\u6b64\u6210\u4e3a\u827a\u672f\u7cbe\u54c1\u300220\u4e16\u7eaa80\u5e74\u4ee3\uff0c\u5728\u7f16\u7e82\u4e2d\u56fd\u5341\u90e8\u6587\u827a\u96c6\u6210\u5fd7\u4e66\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u5bf9\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u7684\u827a\u672f\u4f20\u7edf\u8fdb\u884c\u4e86\u76f8\u5e94\u7684\u6316\u6398\u548c\u6574\u7406\uff0c\u5e76\u56e0\u6b64\u6062\u590d\u521b\u4f5c\u4e86\u4e00\u6279\u65b0\u8282\u76ee\uff0c\u6c11\u95f4\u7684\u644a\u7c27\u6f14\u5531\u6d3b\u52a8\u4e5f\u5f97\u4ee5\u5f00\u5c55\u3002\u4f46\u9762\u5bf9\u79cd\u79cd\u51b2\u51fb\uff0c\u5170\u6eaa\u644a\u7c27\u5982\u4f55\u83b7\u5f97\u53d1\u5c55\uff0c\u8d70\u5411\u7e41\u8363\uff0c\u4f9d\u7136\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e25\u5cfb\u7684\u95ee\u9898\uff0c\u9700\u8981\u52a0\u4ee5\u7279\u522b\u5173\u6ce8\u3002
Later on, many graceful tunes and to<\/em>nes of Nanxi Tanhuang were absorbed by Wu Opera, a local opera style in Zhejiang Province. Classic Wu Operas like Biography of Li Yu (or Li Yu Bie Zhuan), Bitter Rape Flower (or Ku Cai Hua) and Gathering of Mo<\/em>nks and Nuns (or Seng Ni Hui) did not make their name until they were adapted ba<\/em>sed on Nanxi Tanhuang. In the 1980s, the traditio<\/em>nal skills of Nanxi Tanhuang were explored and sorted out during the course of compiling ten volumes of collection of Chinese folk vocal art forms. Afterwards, the creation of new programs of the kind was resumed, and Tanhuang shows were made available o<\/em>nce again. Facing various shocks, however, it still remains to be a serious problem with how to further develop and revive Nanxi Tanhuang. Therefore, special attention has to be paid to the matter in question.
