\tPre-school education\uff08\u5b66\u524d\u6559\u80b2xuéqián jiàoyù\uff09<\/strong> is an important component\uff08\u7ec4\u4ef6z\u01d4jiàn\uff09<\/strong> of education cause in China. In urban\uff08\u57ce\u5e02\u7684chéngshì de\uff09<\/strong> areas, pre-school education is mainly kindergartens of 1 to 3 years, which could be full time, part-time, boarding or hour-reckoned. In rural\uff08\u519c\u6751\u7684nóngc<\/strong>\u016bn de\uff09<\/strong> areas, pre-school education is mainly nursery\uff08\u6258\u513f\u6240tuóérsu\u01d2\uff09<\/strong> classes and seasonal kindergartens in addition. In the aging, minority, remote and poor areas, besides the normal preschool education, there are irregular education with various forms such as children activity centers, game groups, mobile aid centers, and mobile service called "caravan<\/strong>"\uff08\u5927\u7bf7\u8f66dà péngch\u0113\uff09<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\tFollowing the policy of providing per-schooling education by the state, collective bodies, citizen<\/strong>s\uff08\u516c\u6c11g\u014dngmín\uff09<\/strong> and individual<\/strong>s\uff08\u4e2a\u4f53gèt\u01d0\uff09<\/strong> and developing through multiple channels in various forms, pre-school education in China has made significant progress. In 2010, there were 138,209 kindergartens with an enrollment\uff08\u6ce8\u518czhùcè\uff09<\/strong> of 15,468,596 young children. Per-school education has been generally universalized in big and middle-sized cities.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\tDuring recent years, pre-school education in the mass rural areas, particularly in remote, poor and minority areas, has developed rapidly. The kindergartens combine childcare\uff08\u513f\u7ae5\u4fdd\u80b2értóng b\u01ceoy\u01dc\uff09<\/strong> with teaching so that the children will develop physically, morally, intellectually and aesthetically in a harmonious\uff08\u548c\u8c10\u7684héxié de\uff09<\/strong> way to get ready for their formal school education. The educational activities conducted in kindergartens constitute a systematic, purposeful and multi-faceted process\uff08\u8fc7\u7a0bguòchéng\uff09<\/strong> of education conductive to lively, invigorating and sound development of children. With playing games as the main part of educational activities in kindergartens, a good environment\uff08\u73af\u5883huánjìng\uff09<\/strong> should be created conducive to the education with condition<\/strong>s\uff08\u6761\u4ef6tiáojiàn\uff09<\/strong> and opportunities offered to children to live and display their expressiveness.<\/p>\n

\tTo enhance\uff08\u52a0\u5f3aji\u0101qiáng\uff09<\/strong> the management\uff08\u7ba1\u7406gu\u01cenl\u01d0\uff09<\/strong> and guidance\uff08\u6307\u5bfczh\u01d0d\u01ceo\uff09<\/strong> of kindergartens, the state has formulated a serious of regulations including "Regulations on The Management of Kindergartens" and the "Regulations on Kindergarten Work" placing the management of kindergartens on scientifically sound and institutionalized basis. The state has also formulated regulations and rules concerning the qualification\uff08\u8d44\u683cz\u012bgé\uff09<\/strong> of kindergarten teachers and the assessment\uff08\u8bc4\u5b9apíngdìng\uff09<\/strong>of their performance\uff08\u7ee9\u6548jìxiào\uff09<\/strong>. At present, the normal schools devoted to the training of kindergarten teachers and the discipline of pre-school education have made big stride\uff08\u8fdb\u5c55jìnzh\u01cen\uff09<\/strong> and the training system of pre-school teachers at considerable scale\uff08\u89c4\u6a21gu\u012bmó\uff09<\/strong> has taken shape.<\/p>\n
