The characters of Lady in White, Xu Xian, Fa Hai, and Xiaoqing that are created in it serve to express the lo<em><\/em>nging of the masses for liberation of humanity and the works makes up one of the precious spiritual relics of Chinese nation. The ancient traditions and custom handed down in the story enable the legend to loom as one of the relics that co<em><\/em>ntain the richest information of Chinese folk culture.<br \/>  \u767d\u86c7\u4f20\u4f20\u8bf4\u8087\u59cb\u4e8e\u5510\u4e94\u4ee3\u65f6\u671f\uff0c\u57fa\u672c\u6210\u578b\u4e8e\u5357\u5b8b\uff0c\u81f3\u8fdf\u5230\u5143\u4ee3\u5df2\u88ab\u6587\u4eba\u7f16\u6210\u6742\u5267\u548c\u8bdd\u672c\u3002\u660e\u4ee3\u51af\u68a6\u9f99\u7f16\u7e82\u7684\u62df\u8bdd\u672c\u300a\u767d\u5a18\u5b50\u6c38\u9547\u96f7\u5cf0\u5854\u300b\u662f\u8be5\u4f20\u8bf4\u6700\u65e9\u7684\u8f83\u4e3a\u5b8c\u6574\u7684\u6587\u672c\u3002\u660e\u6e05\u4ee5\u964d\u81f3\u4e8e\u73b0\u5f53\u4ee3\uff0c\u6c11\u95f4\u7684\u53e3\u5934\u6587\u5b66\u4e0e\u5404\u7c7b\u4fd7\u6587\u827a\u7684\u6539\u7f16\u3001\u642c\u6f14\u76f8\u4e92\u6e17\u900f\u3001\u76f8\u4e92\u878d\u5408\uff0c\u4f7f\u767d\u86c7\u4f20\u6700\u7ec8\u6210\u4e3a\u6545\u4e8b\u3001\u6b4c\u8c23\u3001\u5b9d\u5377\u3001\u5c0f\u8bf4\u3001\u6f14\u4e49\u3001\u8bdd\u672c\u3001\u620f\u66f2\u3001\u5f39\u8bcd\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u7535\u5f71\u3001\u7535\u89c6\u3001\u52a8\u6f2b\u3001\u821e\u8e48\u3001\u8fde\u73af\u753b\u7b49\u5404\u79cd\u6587\u827a\u5f62\u5f0f\u7684\u7ecf\u5178\u9898\u6750\u3002\u5176\u5f71\u54cd\u4e0d\u65ad\u6269\u5927\uff0c\u6700\u7ec8\u6d41\u5e03\u5168\u56fd\uff0c\u5bb6\u55bb\u6237\u6653\uff0c\u5e76\u8fdc\u64ad\u65e5\u672c\u3001\u671d\u9c9c\u3001\u8d8a\u5357\u3001\u5370\u5ea6\u7b49\u8bb8\u591a\u56fd\u5bb6\u3002<br \/>  The Legend of White Snake started in the five periods of Tang Dynasty and basically took shape in South Song Dynasty and was adapted into variety play and s<em><\/em>cript for story-telling in as late as Yuan Dynasty. The s<em><\/em>cript imitation The Lady in White Weighing down the Leifeng Pagoda compiled by Feng Menglong in the Ming Dynasty is the earliest complete version. From Ming and Qing Dynasties down to the present, there have appeared the mutual influence and merger of the adaption and stage performance of dictation folk literature and various folk literature and art. Consequently, the Legend of White Snake evolved into classical materials for various literary forms including story, ballad, scroll, fiction, romance, s<em><\/em>cript, traditio<em><\/em>nal opera, fiddle ballad and film, TV play, cartoon, dance, and comic picture book. Its influence was still spreading till it reached all parts of the country so that almost every household began to know it. And it even became known overseas including Japan, Korea, Viet Nam, India, etc.<br \/>  \u6c11\u95f4\u4f20\u8bf4\u5e38\u5e38\u51fa\u73b0&ldquo;\u591a\u6e90&rdquo;\u73b0\u8c61\uff0c\u767d\u86c7\u4f20\u4f20\u8bf4\u4ea6\u7136\u3002\u6c11\u95f4\u6587\u5b66\u4e13\u5bb6\u8ba4\u4e3a\uff0c\u9547\u6c5f\u3001\u676d\u5dde\u662f\u8fd9\u4e00\u4f20\u8bf4\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u6d41\u4f20\u5730\u3002\u767d\u86c7\u4f20\u4f20\u8bf4\u6d41\u4f20\u5730\u533a\u5e7f\u6cdb\uff0c\u4e0e\u6881\u795d\u4f20\u8bf4\u3001\u5b5f\u59dc\u5973\u4f20\u8bf4\u3001\u725b\u90ce\u7ec7\u5973\u4f20\u8bf4\u5e76\u5217\u4e3a\u6c49\u6c11\u65cf\u6d41\u4f20\u8f83\u5e7f\u7684\u56db\u5927\u4f20\u8bf4\u3002<br \/>  In folktales often occurs the phenomenon of multiple sources and the same is true of the legend. Experts of folk literature believe that Zhenjiang and Hangzhou are the major area of circulation of this legend. So wide has the Legend of White Snake spread that it ranks one of the four most-widespread legends of Han Nationality, the other three being the Legend of Butterfly Lovers, the Legend of Lady Meng Jiang, and the Legend of Cowherd and Girl Weaver.<br \/>  \u767d\u86c7\u4f20\u6781\u5927\u5730\u4e30\u5bcc\u4e86\u4e2d\u56fd\u6c11\u95f4\u6587\u827a\u7684\u5b9d\u5e93\u3002\u5b83\u6545\u4e8b\u5947\u5d1b\uff0c\u4eba\u7269\u751f\u52a8\u4e30\u6ee1\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u7684\u767d\u5a18\u5b50\u662f\u4e2d\u56fd\u827a\u672f\u957f\u5eca\u4e2d\u4e00\u4e2a\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u5178\u578b\u5f62\u8c61\u3002\u4f20\u8bf4\u6240\u53cd\u6620\u51fa\u7684\u5357\u5b8b\u4ee5\u6765\u4e0d\u540c\u65f6\u671f\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u793e\u4f1a\u601d\u60f3\u3001\u4fe1\u4ef0\u4e0e\u4ef7\u503c\u89c2\u53ca\u6c11\u65cf\u6df1\u5c42\u5fc3\u7406\uff0c\u6709\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u5386\u53f2\u4ef7\u503c\u3002\u767d\u86c7\u4f20\u4e2d\u7684\u6c11\u98ce\u6c11\u4fd7\u5185\u5bb9\u4e5f\u6781\u5176\u4e30\u5bcc\uff0c\u5bf9\u4e86\u89e3\u6c5f\u5357\u7684\u98ce\u571f\u4eba\u60c5\u6709\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u53c2\u8003\u4ef7\u503c\u3002\u800c\u5bf9\u4e8e\u8fd9\u4e00\u4f20\u8bf4\u4e3b\u8981\u7684\u53d1\u751f\u5730\u676d\u5dde\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u767d\u86c7\u4f20\u4e0e\u65ad\u6865\u3001\u96f7\u5cf0\u5854\u53ca\u897f\u6e56\u7b49\u81ea\u7136\u548c\u6587\u5316\u666f\u89c2\u5f62\u6210\u4e86\u5bc6\u4e0d\u53ef\u5206\u7684\u5173\u7cfb\uff0c\u4f7f\u676d\u5dde\u548c\u897f\u6e56\u90fd\u5177\u6709\u4e86\u66f4\u4e3a\u4e30\u539a\u7684\u6587\u5316\u5185\u6db5\u3002<br \/>  The Legend of White Snake has enriched enormously the treasure house of Chinese folk literature and art with thrilling plots and vivid characters. In particular, the Lady in White has become an im<em><\/em>portant model in the corridor of Chinese art. The social thinking, beliefs, co<em><\/em>ncept of values, and the deep psyche of ethnicity since the South Song Dynasty revealed in the legend are of great historical value. Also, the custom and habits are also abundant in the legend, providing a reference of value in understanding the custom and social practice of the south of Changjiang River.
