But now it usually means \u2018guidance\u2019 or \u2018instruction\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>S: So, \u2018l\u01day\u00f3u zh\u01d0n\u00e1n\u2019 means \u2018Tour Guide\u2019, or \u2018guide book\u2019, very useful. <\/p>\n<p>M: T\u00e0ih\u00fa Lake, t\u00e0ih\u00fa, is one of China\u2019s well-known scenic spots. <\/p>\n<p>M: I also recommended the West Lake, \u897f\u6e56\uff0cXI HU, x\u012bh\u00fa. We\u2019ve learnt that x\u012b means \u2018west\u2019. So I\u2019m sure you can easily guess what \u2018h\u00fa\u2019 means. Du\u00ec le, h\u00fa, lake, \u6e56\u3002And x\u012bh\u00fa is a very famous scenic spot in east China\u2019s city of Hangzhou. <\/p>\n<p>S: But, despite ML\u2019s recommendation, I decided to go to X\u012bz\u00e0ng, Tibet, X\u012bz\u00e0ng, where Mount Everest is. <\/p>\n<p>M: And Stuart says he\u2019ll climb to the top of it! He\u2019s just boasting, \u5439\u725b\uff0cchu\u012bni\u00fa. <\/p>\n<p>S: No, ML, I\u2019m serious! W\u01d2 y\u00e0o d\u0113ngshang Zh\u016bm\u00f9l\u01cengm\u01cef\u0113ng d\u01d0ng.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>M: In Chinese, we call Mount Everest \u2018\u73e0\u7a46\u6717\u739b\u5cf0\u2019, Zh\u016bm\u00f9l\u01cengm\u01cef\u0113ng. \u767b\uff0cDENG, d\u0113ng1, first tone, means \u2018to climb\u2019. And \u9876\uff0cDING, third tone, means \u2018top\u2019.
