All in today&rsquo;s Chinese Studio.<br \/>  \t****************<\/p>\n<p>  \tYajie: \u70ed, hot. R-e, the fourth tone.<br \/>  \tCam: \u70ed (r&egrave;).<br \/>  \tYajie: \u6bd4is similar to the English word &ldquo;than&rdquo;.<br \/>  \tCam: \u6bd4 (b\u01d0).<br \/>  \tYajie:\u4eca\u5929\u6bd4\u6628\u5929\u70ed. Today is hotter than yesterday.<br \/>  \tCam: \u4eca\u5929\u6bd4\u6628\u5929\u70ed. (j\u012bnti\u0101n b\u01d0 zu&oacute;ti\u0101n r&egrave;).<br \/>  \tYajie: \u4eca\u5929(j\u012bnti\u0101n). How about that?<br \/>  \tCam: It&#39;s \u4eca\u5929\u6700\u9ad8\u6c14\u6e29\u4e09\u5341\u5ea6\u3002(j\u012bnti\u0101n zu&igrave;g\u0101o q&igrave;w&egrave;n s\u0101nsh&iacute; d&ugrave;.)<br \/>  \tYajie: Right. And if it was 28 degrees yesterday, which was a little bit lower than today, then you can use\u6bd4 to make a sentence. The sentence could go like this: \u4eca\u5929\u6bd4\u6628\u5929\u70ed. (j\u012bnti\u0101n b\u01d0 zu&oacute;ti\u0101n r&egrave;). Today is hotter than yesterday.<br \/>  \tCam: \u4eca\u5929\u6bd4\u6628\u5929\u70ed. (j\u012bnti\u0101n b\u01d0 zu&oacute;ti\u0101n r&egrave;). By the way what&#39;s the opposite of \u70ed(r&egrave;)?<br \/>  \tYajie: It&rsquo;s \u51b7 (l\u011bng), cold.<br \/>  \tCam: \u51b7 (l\u011bng).<br \/>  \tYajie: \u51b7, l-\u011b-n-g, the third tone.<br \/>  \tCam: \u51b7 (l\u011bng).<br \/>  \tYajie: There is a phrase &#8212; \u8d8a\u6765\u8d8a, which means becoming more and more&hellip;.For example,\u5929\u513f\u8d8a\u6765\u8d8a\u51b7\u4e86.(Tianr yuelaiyue leng le), which means It&#39;s becoming colder and colder.<br \/>  \tYajie: And in winter the weather in the northern part of China is colder than that of the south.<\/p>\n<p>  \tConversations (2)<\/p>\n<p>  \tCam: Then how do you say it&#39;s cooler than yesterday?<br \/>  \tYajie: Good question.
