\tHe nimbly lifts the bucket to his hand.
\tHe sprinkles water without soaking the earth,
\tAnd sweeps so well as if no broom had passed.
\tThe rosy dawn again lights the pagoda,
\tThe clearing mist lifts from the higher windows.
\tLeaning blossoms cover over the path,
\tDancing willow leaves reach down to the steps.
\tI'm driven by these troublesome affairs,
\tRetirement from the world must be put off.
\tWe've met and talked, our deepest hearts agreeing,
\tHow can our mouths be forced completely shut?
\tI say goodbye and fetch my riding crop,
\tParting for now, I turn my head at the last.
\tThere's so much mud that can defile a man,
\tJust listen to all the dogs throughout the land.
\tAlthough I cannot get free from this yoke,
\tI'll sometimes come to rest from all the bustle.
\tYour presence, Abbot, acts just like white snow,
\tHow can I be upset to grasp what's hot? <\/p>\n
