There are also speakers in Malaysia, Singapore, Indo<em><\/em>nesia along with other cities of South East Asia.<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <span style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">2\u3001Shaojiang Min<\/strong><br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <\/span><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Shaojiang Min<span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong>(\u7ecd\u6c5f\u95fd\u8bed Sh&agrave;oji\u0101ng m\u01d0ny\u01d4)&nbsp;or Shao-Jiang&nbsp;is a group of Min subvarieties spoken a<em><\/em>bout Nanping in the northeast of Fujian province. Min is an additio<em><\/em>nal name for Fujian province and Nan signifies &#8216;south&#8217; or &#8216;southern&#8217;.<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  Main varieties of Southern Min co<em><\/em>nsist of:<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Quanzhou<\/strong><span>&nbsp;<\/span>(\u6cc9\u5dde Qu&aacute;nzh\u014du)<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Xiamen<\/strong><span>&nbsp;<\/span>(\u53a6\u95e8 Xi&agrave;m&eacute;n)<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  &#8211; co<em><\/em>ntains Taiwanese<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Zhangzhou<\/strong><span>&nbsp;<\/span>(\u6f33\u5dde Zh\u0101ngzh\u014du)<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Chaozhou<\/strong><span>&nbsp;<\/span>(\u6f6e\u5dde Ch&aacute;ozh\u014du)<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  Quanzhou, Xiamen and Zhangzhou varieties of Southern Min are much more or less mutually intelligible with every single other, but not with Chaozhou varieties.<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <span style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">2\u3001Eastern Min<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <\/strong><\/span><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Eastern Min<\/strong><span>&nbsp;<\/span>(\u95fd\u4e1c M\u01d0nd\u014dng) or Min Dong&nbsp;is spoken by roughly 9.1 million people mainly in east central Fujian province, notably in and around Fuzhou and Ningde, as well as in Brunei, Indo<em><\/em>nesia (Java and Bali), Malaysia (Peninsular) Singapore, Thailand.<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <span style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">3\u3001Pu-Xian<\/strong><br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <\/span><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Pu-Xian<\/strong><span>&nbsp;<\/span>(\u8386\u4ed9 P&uacute;xi\u0101n) or Puxian Min is spoken by a<em><\/em>bout 2.6 million people generally in Putian City and Xianyou County in Fujian province, you&#8217;ll also find speakers in parts of Quanzhou, Shacheng, Fuding in northern Fujian, as well as in Malaysia and Singapore. The name Pu-Xian combines the first characters of Putian and Xianyou. This assortment of Min can also generally be known as Henghua or Xinghua.<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <span style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">4\u3001Qiong-Lei<br style=\"line-height: 1.2em;\" \/>  <\/strong><\/span>There are two main subvarieties of the<span>&nbsp;<\/span><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Qiong-Lei<span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong>(\u743c\u96f7 Qi&oacute;ngl&eacute;i)&nbsp;selection of Min:<strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Leizhou<\/strong><span>&nbsp;<\/span>(\u96f7\u5dde L&eacute;izh\u014du), which is spoken by a<em><\/em>bout four million people in Leizhou city and neighbouring regions in western Guangdong province; and Hainanese, which is spoken primarily in Hainan by a<em><\/em>bout 1.1 million people.
