Out of interest, in Chinese there is a word \u51bb\uff0calso spelled DONG but is in the fourth tone, which means freezing.<\/p>\n<p>  M: And \u6625\u5929, CHUN TIAN, ch\u016bnti\u0101n, means &lsquo;spring&rsquo;.<\/p>\n<p>  S: So now we&rsquo;ve learned all the four seasons of a year. They are &ndash;<\/p>\n<p>  M: Chun ti\u0101n, spring, chun ti\u0101n.<\/p>\n<p>  S: xi&agrave; ti\u0101n, summer, xi&agrave; ti\u0101n.<\/p>\n<p>  M: qi\u016bti\u0101n, autumn, qi\u016bti\u0101.<\/p>\n<p>  S: And d\u014dngti\u0101n, winter, d\u014dngti\u0101n. Hey, that seems pretty easy!<\/p>\n<p>  M: Last lesson Stuart told me that he had heard a<em><\/em>bout, \u542c\u8bf4\u8fc7\uff0ct\u012bngshu\u014d gu&ograve;, quite a few places of interest. F\u0113ngj\u01d0ng, FENG JING, 1st tone 3rd tone, f\u0113ngj\u01d0ng, &lsquo;scenery&rsquo;. And m&iacute;ngsh&egrave;ng, MING SHENG, m&iacute;ngsh&egrave;ng is &lsquo;place of interest&rsquo;.<\/p>\n<p>  S: Y&igrave;zh&iacute;, we know is &lsquo;always&rsquo;, y&igrave;zh&iacute;. So y&igrave;zh&iacute; m&eacute;iy\u01d2u means &lsquo;always not have&rsquo;, or, in real English, &lsquo;never have&rsquo;. <br \/>  So, &lsquo;I never have a chance&rsquo; is ?&hellip; Du&igrave; le, w\u01d2 y&igrave;zh&iacute; m&eacute;iy\u01d2u j\u012bhu&igrave;. w\u01d2 y&igrave;zh&iacute; m&eacute;iy\u01d2u j\u012bhu&igrave;. \u673a\u4f1a is of course &lsquo;chance&rsquo;, &lsquo;opportunity&rsquo;.<\/p>\n<p>  M: Right.
