People gather together in front of a coffin that is placed in the house of the deceased. The Tujia men will then sing and dance all through the night, while women, dressed in bright colors, observe the performance. The Tujia people believe that life and death are like the natural alternation of seasons; in their view, the death of the old who have enjoyed their declining years is the result of natural law, and is worthy of celebration. The Tujia people express their philosophy toward life and death through their wo<em><\/em>nderful so<em><\/em>ngs and dances. When they start dancing, the singer will play the drum and begin singing. Dancers will then begin to dance to the rhythm. The dance has 24 styles, including fengjiaxue (wind mixed with snow), fenghuang zhanchi (the phoenix spreads its wings), gunshenzi (roll the body), meinv shutou (a beauty combs her hair), niucabei (a cow rubs its back), xiniu wangyue (a rhinoceros looks at the moon), yan&#8217;er hanni (a swallow carries mud with its mouth) and ye&#8217;erhe (leaves close). The gestures of the dance include turning, bending knees, and shaking. The rhythm of the dance is a 6\/8 beat with syncopation.<br \/>  &quot;\u6492\u53f6\u513f\u55ec&quot;\u662f\u6b4c\u3001\u821e\u3001\u4e50\u6d51\u7136\u4e00\u4f53\u7684\u827a\u672f\u3002\u5b83\u7684\u58f0\u8154\u4ee5\u7537\u55d3\u9ad8\u516b\u5ea6\u8fd0\u8154\uff0c\u6b4c\u8c03\u662f\u4e00\u79cd\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u7279\u6027\u4e09\u5ea6\uff0c\u4ec5\u5b58\u4e8e\u6e05\u6c5f\u8fe4\u5317\u957f\u6c5f\u4e09\u5ce1\u5317\u5cb8\u7684\u5174\u5c71\u4e00\u5e26\uff0c\u5728\u5176\u4ed6\u6b4c\u79cd\u4e2d\u5df2\u6210\u7edd\u54cd\uff1b\u5176\u66f2\u4f53\u7ed3\u6784\u4e0e\u695a\u8f9e\u4f53\u5f0f\u591a\u6709\u76f8\u4f3c\uff0c\u4ece\u4e2d\u5c1a\u80fd\u627e\u5230\u53e4\u4ee3\u5df4\u695a\u4e4b\u5730\u796d\u795e\u4e50\u6b4c\u7684\u5f71\u5b50\u3002\u6b4c\u821e\u4e2d\u663e\u793a\u51fa\u96be\u80fd\u53ef\u8d35\u7684\u79ef\u6781\u4eba\u751f\u6001\u5ea6\uff0c\u8d2f\u7a7f\u7740\u8c41\u8fbe\u901a\u8131\u7684\u751f\u547d\u89c2\u5ff5\u3002<br \/>  Sayeryo harmo<em><\/em>niously integrates singing, dancing and music. The so<em><\/em>ngs feature ottava alta (men), and an ancient melody (a unique third). Such unique art o<em><\/em>nly exists in Xingshan County on the north bank of the Three Gorges, to the north of the Qingjiang River; and is not seen in any other type of song. The structure of the so<em><\/em>ngs is similar to that of Chu Ci (So<em><\/em>ngs of Chu or So<em><\/em>ngs of the South). We can still see some of the worship music of the ancient Ba State and Chu State in the songs. The song-dance expresses a positive attitude towards life, and the philosophy of open-minded living.<br \/>  &quot;\u6492\u53f6\u513f\u55ec&quot;\u4e3a\u6e05\u6c5f\u571f\u5bb6\u6240\u72ec\u6709\uff0c\u5177\u6709\u4e00\u5b9a\u7684\u827a\u672f\u4ef7\u503c\u548c\u5b66\u672f\u7814\u7a76\u4ef7\u503c\u3002<br \/>  Sayeryo is unique to the Tujia natio<em><\/em>nality living in the Qingjiang basin.
