One might want to have a break while he is grinding the ink. Since the ink stick is wet and could easily stain other things, an ink rest serves as a utensil wher the stick is temporarily placed.<br \/>  &nbsp; \u58a8\u5e8a\u591a\u7528\u7389\u3001\u74f7\u5236\u4f5c\uff0c\u901a\u5e38\u4e0d\u5927\uff0c\u5bbd\u4e0d\u8fc7\u4e8c\u6307\uff0c\u957f\u4e0d\u8fc7\u4e09\u5bf8\u3002\u9020\u578b\u4e00\u822c\u4e3a\u51e0\u6848\u5f0f\u6216\u5e8a\u5f0f\uff0c\u6216\u66f2\u6298\uff0c\u6216\u7b80\u7ec3\u3002<br \/>  &nbsp; The ink rest is mostly made of jade and porcelain. Usually it is not very big, no wider than two fingers put abreast and no lo<em><\/em>nger than three inches. In Ming period, the ink rests were very popular because of the prosperity of ink-making industry. The shape matches the ink stone perfectly. Due to the plain and robust style was admired in Ming Dynasty, the ink rests in that period often had straight lines and square shape. The surface of the ink bed has shallow design on it. Some are even made with smooth surfaces without any carvings or decorations.<br \/>  &nbsp; \u6e05\u4ee3\u662f\u6587\u623f\u96c5\u73a9\u7684\u9f0e\u76db\u65f6\u671f\uff0c\u58a8\u5e8a\u7684\u5236\u4f5c\u6750\u8d28\uff0c\u4e5f\u4ece\u53e4\u94dc\u3001\u7389\u5668\uff0c\u53d1\u5c55\u5230\u7d2b\u6a80\u3001\u9676\u74f7\u3001\u6f06\u5668\u3001\u7425\u73c0\u739b\u7459\u3001\u7fe1\u7fe0\u3001\u666f\u6cf0\u84dd\u3002\u5b83\u4ece\u5355\u7eaf\u7684\u76db\u58a8\u7528\u5177\uff0c\u53d1\u5c55\u5230\u65e2\u5b9e\u7528\u53c8\u53ef\u8d4f\u73a9\u7684\u827a\u672f\u54c1\u3002<br \/>  &nbsp; The statio<em><\/em>neries saw their prime time in Qing Dynasty and the ink rests were made with more types of materials, which ranged from bro<em><\/em>nze and jade to red sandalwood, porcelain, lacquer, amber, agate, jadeite and cloisonn&eacute;.
