As part of an effort to improve treatments for life-threatening illnesses, a team of scientists have created rabbits that glow in the dark.
\u4e3a\u4e86\u4fc3\u8fdb\u7814\u7a76\u6cbb\u7597\u5371\u5bb3\u4eba\u7c7b\u75be\u75c5\u7684\u65b9\u6cd5\uff0c\u8fd1\u65e5\u4e00\u7ec4\u79d1\u5b66\u5bb6\u57f9\u80b2\u51fa\u4e86\u4e00\u79cd\u4f1a\u5728\u9ed1\u6697\u4e2d\u53d1\u5149\u7684\u8367\u5149\u5154\u3002<\/p>\n

Their efforts produced two rabbits out of a litter of eight that went from being a normal, fluffy white to glowing green in the dark. The rabbits were born at the University of Istanbul as part of a collaboration between scientists from universities in Turkey and Hawaii.

The rabbits glow to show that a genetic manipulation technique can work efficiently, though the specific color is more cosmetic than scientific. "The green is not im<\/em>portant at all – it’s just a marker to show the experiment can be done successfully," said University of Hawaii associate professor Stefan Moisyadi.

To produce the glowing effect, researchers injected jellyfish DNA into a mother rabbit’s embryos. Those altered embryos were then inserted back into the mother. Similar experiments have resulted in glowing cockroaches and cats.
\u4e3a\u4e86\u4ea7\u751f\u8fd9\u79cd\u8367\u5149\u6548\u679c\uff0c\u7814\u7a76\u4eba\u5458\u5728\u4e00\u53ea\u6bcd\u5154\u7684\u80da\u80ce\u4e2d\u6ce8\u5165\u4e86\u6c34\u6bcd\u7684DNA\uff0c\u4e4b\u540e\u518d\u628a\u8fd9\u4e9b\u53d8\u5f02\u7684\u80da\u80ce\u690d\u56de\u6bcd\u4f53\u3002\u7c7b\u4f3c\u7684\u5b9e\u9a8c\u8fd8\u66fe\u57f9\u80b2\u51fa\u8367\u5149\u87d1\u8782\u548c\u8367\u5149\u732b\u3002<\/p>\n

Eventually, the researchers hope the technique can lead to new ways to produce medicines, Moisyadi said. The rabbits are expected to have the same life span as their non-glowing counterparts, but Moisyadi said he understands people can object to this kind of experimentation involving live animals.
\u83ab\u4f0a\u65af\u96c5\u8fea\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u6700\u7ec8\uff0c\u7814\u7a76\u4eba\u5458\u5e0c\u671b\u8fd9\u9879\u6280\u672f\u53ef\u4ee5\u7528\u4e8e\u751f\u4ea7\u836f\u7269\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5154\u5b50\u7684\u5bff\u547d\u9884\u8ba1\u5c06\u4f1a\u548c\u666e\u901a\u5154\u5b50\u4e00\u6837\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u83ab\u4f0a\u65af\u96c5\u8fea\u8bf4\u4ed6\u7406\u89e3\u4eba\u4eec\u53ef\u80fd\u4f1a\u53cd\u5bf9\u8fd9\u79cd\u6d3b\u4f53\u52a8\u7269\u5b9e\u9a8c\u3002
