Top 10 landmarks in China:Potala Palace in Lhasa

Perched on top of Hongshan Mountain in the center of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region, 3,650 meters above sea level, Potala Palace was first built in 641 by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo to greet his bride Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It is a 13 story palatial architecture that is a 110-meter-tall. The palace also collected a large number of sculptures, murals, scripture and other valuable cultural relics. Besides, it is a famous Buddhist holy attraction and countless Tibetan Buddhist followers will gather in Potala Palace during festivals.

An Ikea store: summer resort in Beijing

As record temperatures hit China, an Ikea store in Beijing has seen a surge in interest from citizens looking for air-conditioning, comfortable sofas and a good nap. Shanghai experienced its hottest July in 140 years with temperatures as high as 40.8 C. At least 10 Shanghai residents have reportedly died from heat stroke this summer.中国气温再创历史新高,北京的一家宜家门店迎来了一大批市民,他们来这里享受空调和舒服的沙发,顺便小睡一会儿。上海经历了140年来的最热的7月,气温高达40.8 ℃。据报道至少10名上海居民死于高温。
China Weather TV just released a new list of the hottest cities in China. Fuzhou, a city in Southeast China, topped the chart with the temperature passing 35 C for 32 days of the year. Shanghai ranked 16 in the list.中国气象电视台近日发布了中国最热城市排行榜,东南城市福州以全年超过32天最高气温超过35℃排名第一。上海排名16。
People in recent days have stayed indoors whenever possible, where it's typically air-conditioned.最近人们大多尽量待在室内,特别是有空调的地方。

In Ningbo city

The first trip to China was supposed to start by a one week study in Zhoushan Nanhai Experimental School on the Zhoushan(舟山Zhōushān) Island, Zhejiang Province (浙江省), and my first city-stop after Shanghai Pudong Airport was the seaside city of Ningbo(宁波Níngbō) separated from Zhoushan Island by a narrow body of water. Located in northeastern Zhejiang Province, Ningbo is one of the oldest city of China for its localization on the border of the East China Sea and its past as a trading harbor.

Walnut (Hetao) furniture

Walnut was used for many examples of Qing period furniture sourced from the Shanxi region, which generally demonstrate refined workmanship; earlier pieces are extremely rare. Walnut is easily confused with nanmu, however, the surface of walnut tends to have more of an open-grained texture, and the color tends more towards golden-brown or reddish-brown when contrasted with the olive-brown tones of nanmu. Furthermore, their freshly worked surfaces each emit a distinctive fragrance.

Richness of Taohua Island

The Taohua Island (Peach Blossom Island)… This name sounds like a dream full of expectations. Being the second place I visited in China, this is important for me to present it to you as I was literally speachless in front of its beauty(beauty is the state or quality of being beautiful). The "Peach Blossom Island", Tao Hua Dao(桃花岛Táohuādǎo) in Mandarin Chinese, is part of the Zhoushan (舟山) archipelago located in northeastern Zhejiang Province. The island south of the biggest Zhoushan island one (Dinghai Island), just represents 42 squeare kilometers but is a marvel of botanical diversity, lush sceneries of natural rich flora and fauna.

Top 10 landmarks in China:Lama Temple in Beijing

Lama Temple, or the Yonghegong Lamasery, also known as the Harmony and Peace Palace Lamasery, is a renowned lama temple of the Yellow Hat Sect of Lamaism. The lamasery, built in 1694, was originally the residence of the Qing (1644-1911) Emperor Yongzheng before he ascended the throne. Lama Temple features five large halls and three exquisite memorial archways. It houses treasuries of Buddhist art, including sculptured images of gods, demons and Buddha, as well as Tibetan-style murals.
