A Chinese woman, who suffers from brain paralysis, is being hailed as China’s Emily Dickinson, after one of her poems went viral on the Internet.

She began writing in 2009 purely as a <\/span>hobby(\u7231\u597d).<\/strong> <\/span>But little did she know that one day she would <\/span>become a rage(\u8d70\u7ea2)<\/strong> <\/span>across the nation.<\/p>\n

As soon as her latest poem, roughly translated as <\/span>“Crossing Half China to Sleep with You”(\u300a\u7a7f\u8fc7\u5927\u534a\u4e2a\u4e2d\u56fd\u53bb\u7761\u4f60\u300b),<\/strong> <\/span>was posted online, it <\/span>became an instant hit(\u6d41\u884c).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Such was the power of her words that popular <\/span>feminist scholar(\u5973\u6743\u4e3b\u4e49\u8005)<\/strong> <\/span>Shen Rui <\/span>hailed(\u79f0\u8d5e)<\/strong>her as China’ s Emily Dickinson.<\/p>\n

There are many who <\/span>co<\/em>ncur with(\u540c\u610f) <\/span><\/strong>Shen in celebrating Yu’ s writings. “Even though she’s suffering from brain paralysis, it has not impaired her ability to think clearly,” wrote one commentator.<\/p>\n

But there are those who have been going through the words with a fine comb. They’ ve <\/span>criticized(\u6279\u8bc4)<\/strong> <\/span>her <\/span>literary skills(\u6587\u5b66\u6280\u80fd)<\/strong> <\/span>and the <\/span>rhymes(\u97f5\u811a).<\/strong>
