It was earlier known as Murmuring Wooden Clappers, Old Wooden Clappers and Nanyang Wooden Clappers. As Nanyang was formerly called Wan, the then Nanyang Administrative Region renamed it into Wan Wooden Clappers in 1956. At the turn of Ming and Qing dynasties, when the East Road Qin Tune (To<em><\/em>ngzhou Wooden Clappers) spread to Nanyang and got integrated with the local folklore and folk story-telling, it turned into a kind of opera. Ever since it first appeared, the opera has lasted over 300 years of circulation.<br \/>  \u5b9b\u6886\u6709\u300a\u6c76\u6c5f\u6cb3\u300b\u3001\u300a\u5316\u5fc3\u4e38\u300b\u3001\u300a\u9ed1\u6253\u671d\u300b\u3001\u300a\u94e1\u7f8e\u6848\u300b\u3001\u300a\u4e0b\u9648\u5dde\u300b\u3001\u300a\u6843\u82b1\u5eb5\u300b\u3001\u300a\u5356\u82d7\u90ce\u300b\u3001\u300a\u6768\u5bb6\u5c06\u300b\u3001\u300a\u6253\u91d1\u679d\u300b\u3001\u300a\u9ec4\u9e64\u697c\u300b\u7b49\u4e00\u767e\u56db\u5341\u591a\u4e2a\u4f20\u7edf\u5267\u76ee\u3002\u5176\u97f3\u4e50\u5c5e\u4e8e\u677f\u8154\u4f53\uff0c\u66f2\u8c03\u4e30\u5bcc\uff0c\u5531\u8154\u5206\u4e3a\u672c\u8154\u4e0e\u5047\u8154\u4e24\u79cd\uff0c\u5404\u7c7b\u677f\u5f0f\u4e2d\u90fd\u6709\u672c\u8154\u4e0e\u5047\u8154\u76f8\u914d\u3002\u901a\u5e38\u7684\u8c03\u95e8\u6709\u6162\u677f\u3001\u6d41\u6c34\u3001\u4e8c\u516b\u3001\u6563\u677f\u56db\u5927\u90e8\u5206\u3002\u4f34\u594f\u4e50\u5668\u5305\u62ec\u5927\u5f26\u3001\u4e8c\u5f26\u3001\u5760\u80e1\u3001\u6708\u7434\u3001\u5522\u5450\u3001\u5c0f\u9523\u3001\u624b\u9572\u3001\u677f\u9f13\u3001\u5927\u9523\u3001\u5927\u9572\u3001\u5927\u9f13\u3001\u6218\u9f13\u3001\u67a3\u6728\u6886\u5b50\u7b49\u3002\u5b9b\u6886\u4e3b\u5f26\u4e3a\u79e6\u8154\u65e9\u671f\u5927\u5f26\uff0c\u53d1\u97f3\u9ad8\u4ea2\uff0c\u5b9b\u5982\u9e1f\u557c\uff0c\u4e0e\u67a3\u6728\u6886\u5b50\u642d\u914d\uff0c\u98ce\u683c\u72ec\u7279\u3002<br \/>  Wan Wooden Clappers opera co<em><\/em>ntains 140 or so regular programs including Wenjiang River, The Edifying Pill, Rebellion of Outlaws, Beheading of Chen Shimei, Going Down ChenZhou, Peach Blossom Temple, The Little Seedling Seller, Women Troops from the Yang Family, Beating Gold Twig, and Yellow Crane Tower. Its music belo<em><\/em>ngs to the family of clappers with a variety of tunes and the tone falls into original voice and falsetto which are alternately used in the full range of clappers performance. The usual tunes include Slow Clappers, Flowing, Erba and Mincing Clappers. The musical instruments include Large String, Erxian fiddle, Zhuihu fiddle, Yueqin fiddle (four-string), trumpet, mini gong, small cymbals, clapper drum, big drum, big cymbals war drum, and date-tree wooden clappers. The major tune of Wan Wooden Clappers is the from large string of Qin Tune, featuring a resonant, high-pitch tone, like bird-singing and the date-tree wooden clappers really make it sound special.<br \/>  \u5b9b\u6886\u65e2\u6709\u9655\u897f\u6886\u5b50\u7684\u9ad8\u4ea2\u6fc0\u8d8a\uff0c\u53c8\u6709\u4e2d\u539f\u97f3\u4e50\u7684\u5e73\u6574\u89c4\u8303\uff0c\u8fd8\u6709\u695a\u4e50\u7684\u59d4\u5a49\u6e05\u4e3d\uff0c\u5b83\u7528\u4ee5\u70d8\u6258\u611f\u60c5\u7684\u5047\u8154\u4e3a\u9ad8\u516b\u5ea6\u65e0\u5b57\u884c\u8154\uff0c\u7cfb\u5b9b\u8154\u4e00\u7edd\uff0c\u5177\u6709\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u827a\u672f\u4ef7\u503c\u3002\u53d7\u4e2d\u539f\u6587\u5316\u3001\u79e6\u664b\u6587\u5316\u548c\u695a\u6587\u5316\u5171\u540c\u6ecb\u517b\u7684\u5b9b\u6886\u662f\u7814\u7a76\u6cb3\u5357\u6886\u5b50\u65e9\u671f\u751f\u6001\u7684\u6807\u672c\uff0c20\u4e16\u7eaa30\u5e74\u4ee3\u4ee5\u6765\uff0c\u7531\u4e8e\u8c6b\u5267\u3001\u6cb3\u5357\u66f2\u5267\u7684\u5174\u8d77\u548c\u8fc5\u901f\u6d41\u4f20\uff0c\u5b9b\u6886\u6e10\u8d8b\u8870\u843d\uff0c\u81f3\u76ee\u524d\u53ea\u5269\u4e0b\u5185\u4e61\u53bf\u4e00\u5bb6\u56fd\u6709\u5b9b\u6886\u4e13\u4e1a\u5267\u56e2\u8fd8\u5728\u8270\u96be\u5730\u4f20\u627f\u7740\u8fd9\u4e00\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u6c11\u65cf\u827a\u672f\u706b\u79cd\uff0c\u6709\u5fc5\u8981\u53ca\u65f6\u52a0\u4ee5\u62a2\u6551\u548c\u7ef4\u62a4\u3002<br \/>  The Wan Wooden Clappers has both the excited, high-pitch tone of Shaanxi Wooden Clappers and the regular, smooth tone of music of the Central Plain and the clear, pure, delicate voice of music of the State of Chu. The falsetto used for setting up the atmosphere is a wordless, high 8th pitch tone claimed as exceptio<em><\/em>nal merit that is of unique artistic value. Jointly influenced and nourished by culture of the Central Plain and cultures of Qin and Jin Dynasties, the Wan Wooden Clappers opera is indeed a specimen for studying the primitive stage of Henan Wooden Clappers. Since the 1930&rsquo;s, due to the rise and speed circulation of Yu Opera and Henan Tune Opera, its influence has somewhat declined. At present, there is o<em><\/em>nly one professio<em><\/em>nal Wan Wooden Clappers Troupe in Neixiang County that is struggling to pass on the aged, artistic flame of folklore.
