Out of interest, in Chinese there is a word \u51bb\uff0calso spelled DONG but is in the fourth tone, which means freezing. <\/p>\n<p>M: And \u6625\u5929, CHUN TIAN, ch\u016bnti\u0101n, means \u2018spring\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>S: So now we\u2019ve learned all the four seasons of a year. They are \u2013 <\/p>\n<p>M: Chun ti\u0101n, spring, chun ti\u0101n. <\/p>\n<p>S: xi\u00e0 ti\u0101n, summer, xi\u00e0 ti\u0101n. <\/p>\n<p>M: qi\u016bti\u0101n, autumn, qi\u016bti\u0101. <\/p>\n<p>S: And d\u014dngti\u0101n, winter, d\u014dngti\u0101n. Hey, that seems pretty easy! <\/p>\n<p>M: Last lesson Stuart told me that he had heard about, \u542c\u8bf4\u8fc7\uff0ct\u012bngshu\u014d gu\u00f2, quite a few places of interest. And m\u00edngsh\u00e8ng, MING SHENG, m\u00edngsh\u00e8ng is \u2018place of interest\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>S: Y\u00eczh\u00ed, we know is \u2018always\u2019, y\u00eczh\u00ed. So y\u00eczh\u00ed m\u00e9iy\u01d2u means \u2018always not have\u2019, or, in real English, \u2018never have\u2019. <br \/>So, \u2018I never have a chance\u2019 is ?\u2026 Du\u00ec le, w\u01d2 y\u00eczh\u00ed m\u00e9iy\u01d2u j\u012bhu\u00ec. w\u01d2 y\u00eczh\u00ed m\u00e9iy\u01d2u j\u012bhu\u00ec. \u673a\u4f1a is of course \u2018chance\u2019, \u2018opportunity\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>M: Right.
