All in today&rsquo;s Chinese Studio. \u3000<br \/>  \t***********<\/p>\n<p>  \tYajie: Chinese currency is called Renminbi.&nbsp; It is composed of \u5143\u3001\u89d2, \u5206.<br \/>  \tCam: \u5143(yuan), \u89d2(jiao), \u5206(fen).<br \/>  \tYajie: one\u5143(yuan) equals ten\u89d2(jiao), and one\u89d2(jiao) equals10\u5206(fen).<br \/>  \tCam: I heard that\u5143 is also called \u5757(kuai) in Chinese. For example \u516d\u5757 (liu kuai).<br \/>  \tYajie: Yes. You are right. Literally, \u591ameans &ldquo;many or much&rdquo;, \u5c11 means &ldquo;few or little&rdquo;. But together it means &ldquo;how much&hellip; ? or how many&hellip;?&rdquo;<br \/>  \tCam: \u591a\u5c11 (duoshao).<br \/>  \tYajie: \u94b1 means money. \u94b1, q-i-a-n, the second tone. In Chinese &ldquo;How much are these apples\uff1f&rdquo; is pingguo duo sha chan\uff1f<br \/>  \tCam: \u82f9\u679c\u591a\u5c11\u94b1 (p&iacute;nggu\u01d2 du\u014dshao qi&aacute;n)\uff1f<br \/>  \tYajie: \u82f9\u679c is apple.<br \/>  \tCam: \u82f9\u679c (p&iacute;nggu\u01d2)&nbsp; So I can say pingguo du\u014dshao qi&aacute;n\uff1f<br \/>  \tYajie: Great! pingguo du\u014dshao qi&aacute;n\uff1f<\/p>\n<p>  \tCam:&nbsp; So Yajie, what would the answer be?<br \/>  \tYajie:&nbsp; Well, let&rsquo;s say the apples cost 3 yuan per half a kilogram.&nbsp; In Chinese, this is:&nbsp; pingguo san kuai qian yi jin.
