Forget a<em><\/em>bout its meaning. It is seldom used today.<\/p>\n<p>  \u5988\u3001\u59d0\u3001\u5a03\u3001\u86d9\u3001are called x&iacute;ng sh\u0113ng z&igrave;, the left half part is signific part. For example, the &ldquo;\u5973&rdquo; of \u5988\u3001\u59d0\u3001\u5a03 means it has something to do with women. The right half part is pho<em><\/em>netic part. As a result of pho<em><\/em>netic evolution, many pho<em><\/em>netic parts have changed their pro<em><\/em>nunciations which made them a little different to the character that they combined. You will find\u572d(gu\u012b\uff09pro<em><\/em>nounces totally different with \u5a03\uff08w\u0101\uff09and \u86d9\uff08w&aacute;\uff09.
