He became the investigating censor for the government, and suggested training soldiers and selecting generals to bolster the fro<em><\/em>ntier defense situation. He then became a Zhijianyuan (admo<em><\/em>nishing official), and more than o<em><\/em>nce impeached much-favored officials. He was given the title of scholar of Longtuge, Zhuanyunshi (in charge of local transportation) of Hebei, and was then called to the imperial court, serving in Kaifeng prefecture and taking up the posts of Yushizho<em><\/em>ngcheng (commission against corruption) and Sansishi (finance minister), etc. In 1061 (The sixth year of Jiayu Reign), he served as the deputy Shumishi (the head of state security). He died in office and was given the posthumous name Xiaosu.
