Wang, together with Huang Zo<em><\/em>ngxi and Gu Yanwu were collectively known as the three major thinkers of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Wang spent his later years at Shichuanshan at the foot of Hengshan Mountain in writing books to expound his theories, and hence gained his alternative name, &ldquo;Scholar Chuanshan&rdquo;.
