People use rhetorical questions in order to stress a certain point. "\u8c01\u4fe1\u5450<\/strong>"emphasizes the fact that "nobody would believe (you)." "\u54ea\u6b21\u4f60\u4e0d\u662f……"<\/strong> is not o<\/em>nly a rhetorical question, it also utilizes a double negative in order to emphasize the fact that somebody always does a certain thing.<\/p>\n

"\u8033\u65c1\u98ce<\/strong>", which literally translates as "wind passing by the ear", is equivalent to the English idiom, "like water off a duck’s back". The phrase is used to describe incidents or comments that seem to have no effect on someone or something.<\/p>\n

"\u8bf4" appears three times in the dialogue. It is commo<\/em>nly used with many meanings. In "\u4f60\u90fd\u8bf4\u597d\u591a\u56de\u4e86<\/strong>", "\u8bf4<\/strong>" means "say, talk or speak". For example "\u8bf4\u8bdd"(speak\/talk), "\u8bf4\u51fa\u6765"(speak out).  "\u8bf4\u771f\u7684" means "I really mean it."<\/strong> The last "\u8bf4<\/strong>" means "to scold". For example, "\u8001\u5e08\u8bf4\u4e86\u4ed6\u51e0\u53e5\u3002<\/strong>” (His teacher gave him a dressing-down.) "\u5979\u88ab\u8bf4\u54ed\u4e86<\/strong>\u3002"(She was scolded so much so that she cried.) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
