Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!! (Moon Festival)<\/p>\n

This poem \u660e\u6708\u51e0\u65f6\u6709 míngyuè j\u01d0shí y\u01d2u is written by \u82cf\u4e1c\u5761 S\u016b D\u014dngp\u014d in a Mid-Autumn Festival in year 1076. You’ll see how it is elegantly explained by a classic English movie: Jane Eyre in the following video. I read the original English novel “Jane Eyre” a<\/em>bout 15 years ago, still love it!<\/p>\n

\u4e2d\u79cb\u8282 Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditio<\/em>nal Chinese festival that families and loved o<\/em>nes get together to celebrate. If families and loved o<\/em>nes are far apart, this is the time of the year that they co<\/em>nnect with each other.<\/p>\n

Being a good daughter, I called my parents in China this morning. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

When will the moon be clear and bright?<\/p>\n

With a cup of wine in my hand, I ask the blue sky.<\/p>\n

I don’t know what season it would be in the heavens on this night.<\/p>\n

I’d like to ride the wind to fly home.<\/p>\n

Yet I fear the crystal and jade mansions are much too high and cold for me.<\/p>\n

Dancing with my moon-lit shadow<\/p>\n

It does not seem like the human world<\/p>\n

The moon rounds the red mansion<\/p>\n

Stoops to silk-pad doors<\/p>\n

Shines upon the sleepless Bearing no grudge<\/p>\n

Why does the moon tend to be full when people are apart?<\/p>\n

People may have sorrow or joy, be near or far apart<\/p>\n

The moon may be dim or bright, wax or wane<\/p>\n

This has been going on since the beginning of time<\/p>\n

May we all be blessed with longevity<\/p>\n

Though far apart, we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together.<\/p>\n
