\tA. Just say the hour then "\u70b9"(di\u01cen) and the minutes then "\u5206"(f\u0113n). "\u5206"(f\u0113n) is commonly omitted. If it is the top of the hour, "\u5206"(f\u0113n) is always omitted. If it is less than 10 minutes, then you have to say "\u96f6"(líng) before the minute. See below for examples.<\/p>\n

\tB. Another way is to use the word "\u8fc7"(guò) which means "past". "\u516d\u70b9\u8fc7\u516b\u5206"(liù di\u01cen guò b\u0101 f\u0113n) means "eight minutes past six o'clock". For this method, "\u5206"(f\u0113n) cannot be omitted. This way is used if it is less than 30 minutes past the hour. See below for examples.<\/p>\n

\tC. The final way is using the word "\u5dee"(chà) which means "short of\/differ from". "\u5dee\u4e94\u5206\u516d\u70b9"(chà w\u01d4 f\u0113n liù di\u01cen) means "five minutes to six o'clock". This way is usually used if it is more than 30 minutes past the hour. See below for examples.<\/p>\n

\t2) Quarter and half hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\t"\u523b"(kè) is a quarter of an hour, "\u534a"(bàn) is half (an hour in this case)<\/p>\n
