Some of the dukes were very powerful; they could have armies in their jurisdiction and had the rights of collecting rents and taxes, forging cash and appointing and removing officials. Later, these dukes were so powerful that they seriously threatened the governance of the central government.<\/div>\n<div>\u6c49\u521d\uff0c\u5218\u90a6\u5206\u5c01\u4e00\u4e9b\u540c\u59d3\u7684\u5b50\u5f1f\u5230\u5168\u56fd\u5404\u5730\u505a\u738b\uff0c\u60f3\u501f\u6b64\u786e\u4fdd\u5218\u5bb6\u7684\u5929\u4e0b\u3002\u53d7\u5c01\u7684\u8bf8\u4faf\u738b\u7684\u6743\u529b\u5f88\u5927\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u53ef\u4ee5\u5728\u8f96\u533a\u5185\u62e5\u6709\u519b\u961f\uff0c\u5f81\u6536\u79df\u7a0e\uff0c\u94f8\u9020\u94b1\u5e01\uff0c\u4efb\u514d\u5b98\u540f\u3002\u540e\u6765\u8bf8\u4faf\u738b\u7684\u52bf\u529b\u8fc7\u5927\uff0c\u4e25\u91cd\u5f71\u54cd\u4e2d\u592e\u7684\u7edf\u6cbb\u3002<\/div>\n<p>  \t<\/p>\n<div>After Emperor Wudi came into power, he allowed these dukes divide their fiefs to their offspring to establish new vassal states. This was called &ldquo;Decree of Promoting Imperial Beneficence.&rdquo; When one vassal state was divided into several smaller ones, the direct fief became smaller and the duke would have no power to threat the central government. Later, Emperor Wudi removed the ranks of nobility of many dukes. The son of the heavy ruled the people on behalf of the heavy. Thus, all the people should be subject to the emperor&rsquo;s ruling and dukes should also obey the orders of the emperor.
