\tLi Xiangxiang wowed viewers and judges last night to win in the final of "Chinese Idol" in Shanghai on 25th of Aug..<\/p>\n
\tLi, a 27-year-old pub singer from Anhui Province, impressed the audience and the panel of judges with the song "Luo Ye Gui Gen" and his dancing skills.<\/p>\n
\tLi said he was surprised he won as he didn't think he performed well enough last night.<\/p>\n
\tTibetan singer Yangjima, also 27, who has been called "goddess" by fans due to her pure and tranquil voice, was the runner-up.<\/p>\n
\tSix contestants competed in the final. Other finalists included the London-born James Morriscotterill, whose mother is Hong Kong Chinese and father British' dynamic pub singer and dancer Ai Fei, melancholic singer Hou Lei, and versatile Kazakh singer Ah Lai.<\/p>\n
\tYesterday's finale also featured singer-songwriter and multi-Grammy award winner Lionel Richie of the US and Taiwan singer Law Chi-cheung.<\/p>\n
\tRichie performed his well-known song "Say You, Say Me," and did a duet with Chinese-American singer Coco Lee, also a judge on the show, of his hit "Endless Love."<\/p>\n
\tRichie, on his first visit to Shanghai, also encouraged finalists to be themselves and turn their passion into a career.<\/p>\n
\tAccording to the show's producers from Dragon TV, Li will sign a contract with Universal Music Group and record his first album.<\/p>\n
\tFinalists will also have a chance to give concerts and star in original musicals and films.<\/p>\n
