People in China call it \u4e07\u5723\u8282(w&agrave;nsh&egrave;ngji&eacute;), wher people use \u5357\u74dc(n&aacute;ngu\u0101) pumpkins to carve all kinds of funny faces and shapes to ward off evil spirits. Many colleges in China hold parties in which students wear \u9762\u5177(mi&agrave;nj&ugrave;) masks and clothes that they design for themselves to frighten others. <br \/>  People in China have their own &quot;Halloween&quot; called \u4e2d\u5143\u8282(zh\u014dngyu&aacute;nji&eacute;) Mid-July Festival or \u997f\u9b3c\u8282(&egrave;gu\u012dji&eacute;) The Hungry Ghost Festival, which originates from Chinese Taoism. It falls on the fifteenth of every July in lunar calendar. On the day of the festival, people float river lanterns to remember those who have died.
