S: It’s red. Pínggu\u01d2 shì hóngsède.<\/p>\n

S: It’s orange. Chéngsède.<\/p>\n

M: Hóng, HONG, second tone, \u7ea2\uff0cmeans red. And ‘sè’ alone also means color, just the same as ‘yánsè’. \u82f9\u679c\u662f\u7ea2\u8272\u7684. \u82f9\u679c\u662f\u7ea2\u989c\u8272\u7684. Yíyàng.<\/p>\n

S: Or you can simply answer, hóngde. Red. \u7ea2\u7684, which is the shortest form. Hóngde, hóngsède, hóng yánsède, all are ok.<\/p>\n

M: Something\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\u989c\u8272\u7684\uff1fWhat is the color of something? Besides color, similarly we can ask, ‘\u82f9\u679c\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\u5473\u9053\u7684\uff1f’ What is the taste of apple? Wèidào, taste, \u5473\u9053\u3002<\/p>\n

S: I could answer, pínggu\u01d2 shì tiánde. The apple is sweet. \u82f9\u679c\u662f\u751c\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

M: Good.<\/p>\n

M: Now let’s go back to our text. Then I asked Stuart, \u6a59\u5b50\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\u989c\u8272\u7684\uff1fWhat color are oranges? Chéngzi shì shénme yánsède?<\/p>\n

M: \u975e\u5e38\u597d\uff01\u8fd9\u5f20\u684c\u5b50\u662f\u65b9\u7684\u3002Zhèizh\u0101ng zhu\u014dzi shì f\u0101ngde.<\/p>\n
