Do<em><\/em>ngba religion got its name from the fact that the priest of the religion is called &quot;Dongba&quot; by the ethnic people. The religion has exerted very great influence on the material and spiritual lives of the Naxi people since ancient times. It has given birth to the time-ho<em><\/em>nored Do<em><\/em>ngba culture, among which Do<em><\/em>ngba Art is the most glaring and beautiful part. The artistic forms include Do<em><\/em>ngba painting, Do<em><\/em>ngba literature, music and dance, so on and so forth. They usually use gods, ghosts, spirit, people, animals and plants as well as the myth and legend of Do<em><\/em>ngba religion as the subjects. In the techniques and forms of painting, for the influence of foreign religions, especially Tibetan Buddhism, the primitive unsophisticated and natural character of Do<em><\/em>ngba painting is added with luxuriant color. Pilgrimage Road is the most representative work in the scroll paintings. Do<em><\/em>ngba literature which is represented by Do<em><\/em>ngba s<em><\/em>cripture describes various myth and artistic characters and the world that is full of romantic and wo<em><\/em>nderful things. The s<em><\/em>cripture is of very high literature value. Do<em><\/em>ngba music mainly refers to the arias when Do<em><\/em>ngba recites and sings the s<em><\/em>cripture in ceremo<em><\/em>nies and the cadence that Do<em><\/em>ngba takes part in the tutti of people in some ceremonies. The dance of Do<em><\/em>ngba on their sacrifice ceremo<em><\/em>nies is called Do<em><\/em>ngba dance, which has kept the characters of the primitive dances.
