The rest live scattered in Qinghai Province,  Ningxia Hui Auto<em><\/em>nomous Region and Xinjiang Uygur Auto<em><\/em>nomous Region.<\/p>\n<p>  <\/span><span><span>In history, the Do<em><\/em>ngxiangs were called &quot;Do<em><\/em>ngxiang  Huihui&quot;, &quot;Do<em><\/em>ngxiang Mongols&quot; or &quot;Do<em><\/em>ngxiang Aborigines&quot;, which referred  in general to the Moslems living in the Central Asian areas. After the  founding of new China, they were generally called the Do<em><\/em>ngxiang  Nationality.<\/p>\n<p>  <\/span><\/span><span><span><span>The Do<em><\/em>ngxiang language resembles to the Mo<em><\/em>ngolian and  belo<em><\/em>ngs to the Mo<em><\/em>ngolian group of the Altaic family. It has no written  form. Hence, many Do<em><\/em>ngxiang people have a good command of Chinese.<\/p>\n<p>  <\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span>Located between the Yaohe and Daxia rivers and in the  south of the Yellow River, the Do<em><\/em>ngxiang area is lined by mountains and  gullies. Potatoes from Do<em><\/em>ngxiang are sweet and co<em><\/em>ntain high granulose.  Other famous products are watermelon, pears and apricots. <\/p>\n<p>  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>The Do<em><\/em>ngxiangs have much the same customs, habits and  faiths as the Huis in the northwest of China Everybody loves to sing  folk Hua&#8217;er so<em><\/em>ngs to express love, freedom and happiness. Among the  Dongxiangs, there are many epics and tales. The lo<em><\/em>ngest and the most  famous are Meilagahei &amp; Ma Chenglong and the Tale the White Wings.  Autumn is the festival season of the villagers.
