He played a great role in helping Qin Shi Huang (the First Emperor of Qin) unify the entire country and was later appointed as prime minister of Qin. He participated in making the law, unifying vehicle tracks and in standardizing characters and measures. Together with Zhao Gao, he facilitated the inauguration of the second emperor of Qin, Huhai, following the death of the Qin Shi Huang.
