Here we list some specific rules that cause to<em><\/em>nes to change in certain situations.<\/p>\n<p>  &quot;\u4e0d&quot;\u7684\u53d8\u8c03 Tone sandhi of &quot;\u4e0d&quot;<\/p>\n<p>  &quot;\u4e0d&quot; is a fourth tone syllable by itself. But it becomes a second tone when followed by a fourth tone. For example:<\/p>\n<p>  \u4e0d\u559db&ugrave; h\u0113 \u4e0d\u5fd9b&ugrave; m&aacute;ng \u4e0d\u597db&ugrave; h\u01ceo<br \/>  \u4e0d\u662fb&uacute; sh&igrave; \u4e0d\u8981b&uacute; y&agrave;o<\/p>\n<p>  &quot;\u4e00&quot;\u7684\u53d8\u8c03 Tone sandhi of &quot;\u4e00&quot;<br \/>  &quot;\u4e00&quot; is normally first tone, but this changes in two situations. It is second tone when followed by a fourth tone and when followed by a first, second or third tone, it is fourth tone.<\/p>\n<p>  \u4e00\u4e2ay&iacute; g&egrave; \u4e00\u6b65 y&iacute; b&ugrave;<br \/>  \u4e00\u822cy&igrave; b\u0101n \u4e00\u76f4y&igrave; zh&iacute; \u4e00\u8d77y&igrave; q\u01d0<\/p>\n<p>  \u4e09\u58f0\u53d8\u8c03 Third-tone sandhi<\/p>\n<p>  A third tone, when followed by a first, second or fourth tone, or most neutral tone syllables, usually becomes a half third tone, that is, a tone that o<em><\/em>nly falls but does not rise. The tone mark is unchanged.
