A driving school in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province, has announced a plan that encourages college students to learn more a<\/em>bout Chinese literature.

\"ReciteIf you don’ t see the connection, here’ s how it works: If you can <\/span>recite(\u80cc\u8bf5)<\/strong> <\/span>more than 30,000characters(\u6c49\u5b57)<\/strong> <\/span>from <\/span>classic Chinese literature works(\u56fd\u5b66\u7ecf\u5178),<\/strong> <\/span>you will be able to take the driving lessons <\/span>for free(\u514d\u8d39).<\/strong> <\/span>(The <\/span>original price(\u539f\u4ef7)<\/strong> <\/span>for a full course is 3,800 yuan, or 613 US dollars.) If you can recite more than 8,000 characters, you will get adiscount(\u6253\u6298)<\/strong> <\/span>of 1,500 yuan. And more than 1,000 characters, a discount of 200 yuan.<\/p>\n

So far(\u5230\u76ee\u524d\u4e3a\u6b62),<\/strong> <\/span>many college students have taken on the <\/span>challenge(\u6311\u6218).<\/strong> <\/span>Le Yanyan, a senior <\/span>majoring(\u5b66…\u4e13\u4e1a)<\/strong> <\/span>in Chinese literature, even managed to win the free lessons.<\/p>\n

Explaining why the school has come up with this plan, principal Ma Deming says he is <\/span>a big fan of Sinology(\u56fd\u5b66\u8ff7)<\/strong> <\/span>and wants to do his part in helping promote it. He adds that it co<\/em>ntains lots ofprofound thoughts(\u6df1\u523b\u7684\u601d\u60f3)<\/strong> <\/span>and teaches <\/span>the basic principles to co<\/em>nduct o<\/em>neself(\u505a\u4eba\u7684\u57fa\u672c\u539f\u5219),<\/strong> <\/span>which can be beneficial to college students.<\/p>\n
