Let&rsquo;s start with some of my favorite sports in Chinese.  One of the most popular sports in Canada is ice hockey. How do I say  that in Chinese?<br \/>  Yajie: It&rsquo;s\u51b0\u7403(bing1 qiu2)<br \/>  Chris: \u51b0\u7403(bing1 qiu2). But I also hear some people say \u51b0\u4e0a\u66f2\u68cd\u7403(bing1 shang4 qu1gun4qiu2)&hellip; <br \/>  Yajie: Well, that&rsquo;s because hockey means \u66f2\u68cd\u7403(qu1gun4qiu2) in Chinese. <br \/>  Chris: \u66f2\u68cd\u7403(qu1gun4qiu2).&nbsp; <br \/>  Yajie: Yes, \u66f2 (qu1), q-u, the first tone, which means crooked. <br \/>  Chris: \u66f2 (qu1)<br \/>  Yajie: \u68cd (gun4) means rod or stick. <br \/>  Chris: \u68cd (gun4)<br \/>  Yajie: \u7403 (qiu2), the second tone means ball. <br \/>  Chris: \u7403 (qiu2).<br \/>  Yajie: \u66f2\u68cd\u7403(qu1gun4qiu2) the ball you play with crooked stick &hellip; which is &hellip; hockey! <br \/>  Chris: I see.&nbsp; \u66f2\u68cd\u7403(qu1gun4qiu2)<br \/>  Yajie: \u51b0\u4e0a\uff0cmeans on the ice\uff0c together it&rsquo;s \u51b0\u4e0a\u66f2\u68cd\u7403(bing1 shang4 qu1gun4qiu2) ice hockey\u3002 <br \/>  Chris\uff1a\u51b0\u4e0a\u66f2\u68cd\u7403(bing1 shang4 qu1gun4qiu2)<br \/>  Yajie: Chris\uff0cdo you know what&rsquo;s the Chinese natio<em><\/em>nal sport?<br \/>  Chris: Yes. I know. It&rsquo;s ping-pong. <br \/>  Yajie: Right. Ping-pong in Chinese is \u4e52\u4e53\u7403(ping1pang1 qiu2). <br \/>  Chris: \u4e52\u4e53\u7403(ping1pang1 qiu2). I see.
