Cam:  I have to go with alternative rock. But what’s the Chinese for that?<\/p>\n

Cam: gu3dian3 yin1 yue4<\/p>\n

YJ: gu3dian3 means classical,<\/p>\n

Cam:  gu3dian3.  and yin1 yue4 means music.<\/p>\n

YJ:  right.  gu3dian3 yin1 yue4 \u53e4\u5178\u97f3\u4e50, classical music.<\/p>\n

Cam: gu3dian3 yin1 yue4 , which is distinguished from popular music.  <\/p>\n

Cam: yin1 yue4! So with each music genre, you always put “yin1 yue4” at the end, right?<\/p>\n

YJ: Almost. xiang1 cun1 yin1 yue4, country music.<\/p>\n

YJ: Jazz is a little different in Chinese. It’s \u7235\u58eb\u4e50<\/p>\n

Cam: jue2 shi4 yue4<\/p>\n

YJ:  jue2 shi4, jazz<\/p>\n

Cam:  jue2 shi4<\/p>\n

YJ: Then it’s yue4 instead of yin1 yue4, which also means music.<\/p>\n
