The stockades are widely distributed throughout the villages in Yo<em><\/em>ngding County and most of them are mainly located in Tingjiang River and Yo<em><\/em>ngding River basins. Yo<em><\/em>ngding stockades are principally square while round stockades are rarely seen. The latter are mainly situated in Jinfeng Stream basin. In addition, &quot;dafudi&quot; (scholar-bureaucrat mansions), i.e. &quot;wufenglou&quot; (Five Phoenix Tower), which is characterized by both square and round stockades, are principally distributed in Yo<em><\/em>ngding River basin. According to statistics, there are more than 20,000 stockades in Yo<em><\/em>ngding County up to now.<br \/>  \u571f\u697c\u5efa\u7b51\u4e2d\u8574\u6db5\u7740\u5929\u4eba\u5408\u4e00\u7684\u7406\u5ff5\uff0c\u878d\u5b89\u5168\u9632\u536b\u548c\u751f\u4ea7\u751f\u6d3b\u9700\u8981\u3001\u805a\u5c45\u548c\u5d07\u6587\u91cd\u6559\u610f\u8bc6\u4e8e\u4e00\u4f53\u3002\u571f\u697c\u8425\u9020\u5de5\u827a\u7cbe\u5de7\uff0c\u89c4\u5212\u6784\u7b51\u8003\u7a76\uff0c\u5145\u5206\u5229\u7528\u81ea\u7136\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5408\u7406\u5b89\u6392\u623f\u5c4b\u5e03\u5c40\uff0c\u6216\u4f9d\u5c71\u6216\u508d\u6c34\uff0c\u4f7f\u5c45\u4f4f\u7684\u697c\u5c4b\u4e0e\u81ea\u7136\u73af\u5883\u76f8\u534f\u8c03\u3002\u571f\u697c\u7ed3\u6784\u5343\u59ff\u767e\u6001\uff0c\u5185\u90e8\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e30\u5bcc\u6709\u5e8f\uff0c\u88c5\u9970\u5de5\u827a\u7cbe\u6e5b\u9ad8\u8d85\u3002\u571f\u697c\u7684\u8425\u9020\u5de5\u827a\u662f\u5ba2\u5bb6\u5efa\u7b51\u6587\u5316\u7684\u751f\u52a8\u8868\u73b0\uff0c\u5b83\u7ee7\u627f\u4e86\u4e2d\u539f\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u751f\u571f\u6784\u7b51\u6280\u827a\uff0c\u4fdd\u7559\u4e86\u5927\u91cf\u4f18\u79c0\u7684\u5efa\u7b51\u4f20\u7edf\uff0c\u6210\u4e3a\u53e4\u5efa\u7b51\u6280\u827a\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u7684\u6d3b\u5316\u77f3\u3002<br \/>  Stockades imply the co<em><\/em>ncept of unity of heaven and humanity and integrate safeguarding, production and living needs, agglomerated settlement with the awareness of advocating literacy and education. The exquisitely co<em><\/em>nstructed and thoroughly planned stockades are laid out reaso<em><\/em>nably in the natural space, with some near the mountain and some by the river, in good harmony with natural environment. Stockades are in various structures with multiple and orderly inner space and superb decoration craft. Stockade architectural building skills, which embody dynamically Hakka architectural culture, carry on ancient earth co<em><\/em>nstruction skills in the Central Plains of China and reserve enormous glorious architectural traditions. It has become the living fossil for the researches on ancient architectural building skills.<br \/>  \u636e\u8bb0\u8f7d\uff0c\u660e\u4ee3\u6210\u5316\u5341\u56db\u5e74\uff081478\uff09\uff0c\u6c38\u5b9a\u6b63\u5f0f\u5efa\u53bf\uff0c\u53bf\u4e2d\u7684\u5ba2\u5bb6\u4eba&quot;\u4eba\u6587\u9e4a\u8d77\uff0c\u7532\u7b2c\u5dcd\u79d1\u4e3a\u6570\u90e1\u51a0&quot;\u3002\u7531\u660e\u672b\u5f00\u59cb\uff0c\u6c38\u5b9a\u5ba2\u5bb6\u4eba\u79ef\u6781\u4ece\u4e8b\u70df\u8349\u751f\u4ea7\u548c\u8d38\u6613\uff0c\u8d22\u6e90\u6eda\u6eda\u800c\u6765\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u6587\u5316\u548c\u7ecf\u6d4e\u65b9\u9762\u7684\u7a81\u51fa\u6210\u5c31\u6210\u4e3a\u6c38\u5b9a\u5ba2\u5bb6\u571f\u697c\u5174\u76db\u7684\u7cbe\u795e\u548c\u7269\u8d28\u57fa\u7840\u3002<br \/>  According to historical records, Yo<em><\/em>ngding County was officially set up during the fourteenth year of the Chenghua period in Ming Dynasty (1478). The county witnessed many Hakkas living there rise to fame and the number of the top successful candidates who passed the imperial examination always ranked the first among neighboring counties. From the end of Ming Dynasty, Hakkas in Yo<em><\/em>ngding County were engaged in production and tobacco trade, which made profits pour in from all sides. The significant achievements in culture and eco<em><\/em>nomy have become the physical and mental foundation for the prosperity of Yo<em><\/em>ngding Hakka stockades.<br \/>  \u5728\u73b0\u4ee3\u5316\u548c\u5546\u54c1\u7ecf\u6d4e\u5927\u6f6e\u7684\u51b2\u51fb\u4e0b\uff0c\u6c38\u5b9a\u5730\u533a\u5c45\u6c11\u7684\u5c45\u4f4f\u89c2\u5ff5\u53d1\u751f\u4e86\u53d8\u5316\uff0c\u5df2\u4e0d\u518d\u5efa\u7b51\u571f\u697c\u3002\u539f\u6709\u7684\u6c38\u5b9a\u5ba2\u5bb6\u571f\u697c\u5e74\u4e45\u5931\u4fee\uff0c\u5efa\u7b51\u6280\u827a\u7684\u4f20\u627f\u4e5f\u51fa\u73b0\u5371\u673a\uff0c\u6025\u9700\u653f\u5e9c\u7ed9\u4e88\u5173\u6ce8\u548c\u652f\u6301\uff0c\u91c7\u53d6\u5207\u5b9e\u63aa\u65bd\u52a0\u4ee5\u4fdd\u62a4\u3002<br \/>  Under the impact of modernization and commodity eco<em><\/em>nomy boom, the residents in Yo<em><\/em>ngding has changed their dwelling co<em><\/em>ncept and no lo<em><\/em>nger built stockades. The original Yo<em><\/em>ngding Hakka stockades have long been out of repair and the succession of architectural building skills is facing a crisis.
