Embroidery (cì xiù \u523a\u7ee3), a folk art with a history of more than 3000 years, has an im<\/em>portant position in the history of Chinese arts and crafts. On a piece of silk or cloth, people embroider all kinds of beautiful pictures and patterns with threads of silk, wool or cotton. Among various kinds of embroidery, the best products come from four provinces: Jiangsu (ji\u0101ng s\u016b \u6c5f\u82cf), Hunan (hú nán \u6e56\u5357), Guangdong (gu\u01ceng d\u014dng \u5e7f\u4e1c) and Sichuan (sì chu\u0101n \u56db\u5ddd).<\/p>\n

Suzhou EmbroiderySuzhou Embroidery, or Su Xiu (s\u016b xiù \u82cf\u7ee3), has a history of more than 2000 years. Suzhou artists are able to use more than 40 ways of needling and 1000 different types of threads to make flowers, birds, animals and even gardens on a piece of cloth. Su embroidery features a strong, folk flavor and its weaving techniques are characterized by the following: the product surface must be flat, the rim must be neat, the needle must be thin, the lines must be dense, the color must be harmo<\/em>nious and bright and the picture must be even. Su embroidery products fall into three major categories: costumes, decorations for halls and crafts for daily use, which integrate decorative and practical Hunan Embroideryvalues. Double-sided embroidery is an excellent representative of Su embroidery. The best-known work is an embroidered cat with bright eyes and fluffy hair, looking vivid and lifelike.<\/p>\n

Hunan Embroidery, or Xiang Xiu (xi\u0101ng xiù \u6e58\u7ee3), has a history of at least 2000 years as well. Since artists of traditio<\/em>nal Chinese painting are involved in designing pictures and patterns. Xiang embroidery is well known for its time-ho<\/em>nored history, excellent craftsmanship and unique style. Xiang embroidery uses pure silk, hard satin, soft satin and nylon as its material, which is co<\/em>nnected with colorful silk threads. Absorbing the spirit of Chinese paintings, the embroidery reaches a high artistic level. Xiang embroidery crafts include valuable works of art, as well as materials for daily use.<\/p>\n

Guangdong Embroidery, or Yue Xiu (yuè xiù \u7ca4\u7ee3), dates back to at least 1000 years. Guangdong EmbroideryInfluenced by natio<\/em>nal folk art, Yue embroidery formed its own unique characteristics. The embroidered pictures are mainly of dragons and phoenixes, and flowers and birds, with neat designs and strong, co<\/em>ntrasting colors. Floss, thread and gold-and-silk thread embroidery are used to produce costumes, decorations for halls and crafts for daily use. Guangdong Embroidery is usually colorful and bright with neat patterns, with a dragon and phoenix predominating among the images. Prominent works are “Hundred Birds Pay Homage to the Phoenix” (b\u01cei ni\u01ceo cháo fèng \u767e\u9e1f\u671d\u51e4) and “Screen of Nine Dragons”(ji\u01d4 lóng píng f\u0113ng \u4e5d\u9f99\u5c4f\u98ce).<\/p>\n

Sichuan EmbroiderySichuan Embroidery, or Shu Xiu (sh\u01d4 xiù \u8700\u7ee3), became known as early as 1000 years ago. Originating among the folk people in the west of Sichuan Province, Shu embroidery formed its own unique characteristics: smooth, bright, neat and influenced by the geographical environment, customs and cultures. The works incorporated flowers, leaves, animals, mountains, rivers and human figures as their themes. Altogether, there are 122 approaches in 12 categories for weaving. The craftsmanship of Shu embroidery involves a combination of fine arts, aesthetics and practical uses, such as the facings of quits, pillowcases, coats, shoots and screen covers. The exemplary work are “Hibiscus and Carps”(fú róng l\u01d0 yú \u8299\u84c9\u9ca4\u9c7c) and “Roosters and Coxcomb”(g\u014dng j\u012b j\u012b gu\u0101n hu\u0101 \u516c\u9e21\u9e21\u51a0\u82b1).<\/p>\n

Apart from the above four types, fine embroidery is also made in Beijing (b\u011bi j\u012bng \u5317\u4eac), Wenzhou (w\u0113n zh\u014du \u6e29\u5dde), Shanghai (shàng h\u01cei \u4e0a\u6d77) and by the Miao ethnic communities (miáo zú \u82d7\u65cf).<\/p>\n

Embroidery      \u523a\u7ee3\uff0c\u53e4\u79f0\u9488\u7ee3\uff0c\u662f\u7528\u7ee3\u9488\u5f15\u5f69\u7ebf\uff0c\u6309\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u82b1\u7eb9\u5728\u7eba\u7ec7\u54c1\u4e0a\u523a\u7ee3\u8fd0\u9488\uff0c\u4ee5\u7ee3\u8ff9\u6784\u6210\u82b1\u7eb9\u56fe\u6848\u7684\u4e00\u79cd\u5de5\u827a\u3002\u53e4\u4ee3\u79f0“\u9ef9”\u3001“\u9488\u9ef9”\u3002\u56e0\u523a\u7ee3\u591a\u4e3a\u5987\u5973\u6240\u4f5c\uff0c\u6545\u53c8\u540d"\u5973\u7ea2"\u3002\u523a\u7ee3\u662f\u4e2d\u56fd\u53e4\u8001\u7684\u624b\u5de5\u6280\u827a\u4e4b\u4e00\uff0c\u6211\u56fd\u7684\u624b\u5de5\u523a\u7ee3\u5de5\u827a\uff0c\u5df2\u7ecf\u67092000\u591a\u5e74\u5386\u53f2\u4e86\u3002\u636e\u300a\u5c1a\u4e66\u300b\u8f7d\uff0c\u8fdc\u57284000\u591a\u5e74\u524d\u7684\u7ae0\u670d\u5236\u5ea6\uff0c\u5c31\u89c4\u5b9a“\u8863\u753b\u800c\u88f3\u7ee3”\u3002\u81f3\u5468\u4ee3\uff0c\u6709“\u7ee3\u7f0b\u5171\u804c”\u7684\u8bb0\u8f7d\u3002\u6e56\u5317\u548c\u6e56\u5357\u51fa\u571f\u7684\u6218\u56fd\u3001\u4e24\u6c49\u7684\u7ee3\u54c1\uff0c\u6c34\u5e73\u90fd\u5f88\u9ad8\u3002\u5510\u5b8b\u523a\u7ee3\u65bd\u9488\u5300\u7ec6\uff0c\u8bbe\u8272\u4e30\u5bcc\uff0c\u76db\u884c\u7528\u523a\u7ee3\u4f5c\u4e66\u753b\uff0c\u9970\u4ef6\u7b49\u3002\u660e\u6e05\u65f6\u5c01\u5efa\u738b\u671d\u7684\u5bab\u5ef7\u7ee3\u5de5\u89c4\u6a21\u5f88\u5927\uff0c\u6c11\u95f4\u523a\u7ee3\u4e5f\u5f97\u5230\u8fdb\u4e00\u6b65\u53d1\u5c55\uff0c\u5148\u540e\u4ea7\u4e86\u82cf\u7ee3\u3001\u7ca4\u7ee3\u3001\u6e58\u7ee3\u3001\u8700\u7ee3\uff0c\u53f7\u79f0“\u56db\u5927\u540d\u7ee3”\u3002\u56db\u5927\u540d\u7ee3\u6700\u80fd\u76f4\u63a5\u4f53\u73b0\u4e2d\u56fd\u523a\u7ee3\u7684\u7279\u8272\u548c\u827a\u672f\u4ef7\u503c\u3002<\/p>\n

      \u82cf\u7ee3\u5df2\u6709\u4e24\u5343\u516d\u767e\u591a\u5e74\u5386\u53f2\uff0c\u5728\u5b8b\u4ee3\u5df2\u5177\u76f8\u5f53\u89c4\u6a21\uff0c\u90a3\u65f6\u82cf\u5dde\u5c31\u51fa\u73b0\u6709\u7ee3\u8863\u574a\u3001\u7ee3\u82b1\u5f04\u3001\u6eda\u7ee3\u574a\u3001\u7ee3\u7ebf\u5df7\u7b49\u751f\u4ea7\u96c6\u4e2d\u7684\u574a\u5df7\u3002\u660e\u4ee3\u82cf\u7ee3\u5df2\u9010\u6b65\u5f62\u6210\u81ea\u5df1\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u98ce\u683c\uff0c\u5f71\u54cd\u8f83\u5e7f\u3002\u6e05\u4ee3\u4e3a\u76db\u671f\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u7684\u7687\u5ba4\u7ee3\u54c1\uff0c\u591a\u51fa\u81ea\u82cf\u7ee3\u827a\u4eba\u4e4b\u624b\uff1b\u6c11\u95f4\u523a\u7ee3\u66f4\u662f\u4e30\u5bcc\u591a\u5f69\u3002\u82cf\u5dde\u523a\u7ee3\u7d20\u4ee5\u7cbe\u7ec6\u3001\u96c5\u6d01\u8457\u79f0\u3002\u56fe\u6848\u79c0\u4e3d\uff0c\u8272\u6cfd\u6587\u9759\uff0c\u9488\u6cd5\u7075\u6d3b\uff0c\u7ee3\u5de5\u7ec6\u81f4\uff0c\u5f62\u8c61\u4f20\u795e\u3002\u6280\u5de7\u7279\u70b9\u53ef\u6982\u62ec\u4e3a“\u5e73\u3001\u5149\u3001\u9f50\u3001\u5300\u3001\u548c\u3001\u987a\u3001\u7ec6\u3001\u5bc6”\u516b\u4e2a\u5b57\u3002\u9488\u6cd5\u6709\u51e0\u5341\u79cd\uff0c\u5e38\u7528\u7684\u6709\u9f50\u9488\u3001\u62a2\u9488\u3001\u5957\u9488\u3001\u7f51\u7ee3\u3001\u7eb1\u7ee3\u7b49\u3002\u7ee3\u54c1\u5206\u4e24\u5927\u7c7b\uff1a\u4e00\u7c7b\u662f\u5b9e\u7528\u54c1\uff0c\u6709\u88ab\u9762\u3001\u6795\u5957\u3001\u7ee3\u8863\u3001\u620f\u8863\u3001\u53f0\u6bef\u3001\u9760\u57ab\u7b49\uff1b\u4e00\u7c7b\u662f\u6b23\u8d4f\u54c1\uff0c\u6709\u53f0\u5c4f\u3001\u6302\u8f74\u3001\u5c4f\u98ce\u7b49\u3002\u53d6\u6750\u5e7f\u6cdb\uff0c\u6709\u82b1\u5349\u3001\u52a8\u7269\u3001\u4eba\u7269\u3001\u5c71\u6c34\u3001\u4e66\u6cd5\u7b49\u3002\u53cc\u9762\u7ee3\u300a\u91d1\u9c7c\u300b\u3001\u300a\u5c0f\u732b\u300b\u662f\u82cf\u7ee3\u7684\u4ee3\u8868\u4f5c\u3002<\/p>\n

Embroidery     \u6e58\u7ee3\u662f\u4ee5\u6e56\u5357\u957f\u6c99\u4e3a\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7684\u523a\u7ee3\u54c1\u7684\u603b\u79f0\u3002\u662f\u5728\u6e56\u5357\u6c11\u95f4\u523a\u7ee3\u7684\u57fa\u7840\u4e0a\uff0c\u5438\u53d6\u4e86\u82cf\u7ee3\u548c\u7ca4\u7ee3\u7684\u4f18\u70b9\u800c\u53d1\u5c55\u8d77\u6765\u7684\u3002\u6e05\u4ee3\u5609\u5e86\u5e74\u95f4\uff0c\u957f\u6c99\u53bf\u5c31\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u5987\u5973\u4ece\u4e8b\u523a\u7ee3\uff0c\u5149\u7eea\u4e8c\u5341\u56db\u5e74\uff081898\uff09\uff0c\u4f18\u79c0\u7ee3\u5de5\u80e1\u83b2\u4ed9\u7684\u513f\u5b50\u5434\u6c49\u81e3\uff0c\u5728\u957f\u6c99\u5f00\u8bbe\u7b2c\u4e00\u5bb6\u81ea\u7ee3\u81ea\u9500\u7684“\u5434\u5f69\u971e\u7ee3\u574a”\uff0c\u4f5c\u54c1\u7cbe\u826f\uff0c\u6d41\u4f20\u5404\u5730\uff0c\u6e58\u7ee3\u4ece\u800c\u95fb\u540d\u5168\u56fd\u3002\u6e58\u7ee3\u7684\u7279\u70b9\u662f\u7528\u4e1d\u7ed2\u7ebf\uff08\u65e0\u62c8\u7ed2\u7ebf\uff09\u7ee3\u82b1\uff0c\u5288\u4e1d\u7ec6\u81f4\uff0c\u7ee3\u4ef6\u7ed2\u9762\u82b1\u578b\u5177\u6709\u771f\u5b9e\u611f\u3002\u5e38\u4ee5\u4e2d\u56fd\u753b\u4e3a\u84dd\u672c\uff0c\u8272\u5f69\u4e30\u5bcc\u9c9c\u8273\uff0c\u5341\u5206\u5f3a\u8c03\u989c\u8272\u7684\u9634\u9633\u6d53\u6de1\uff0c\u5f62\u6001\u751f\u52a8\u903c\u771f\uff0c\u98ce\u683c\u8c6a\u653e\uff0c\u66fe\u6709“\u7ee3\u82b1\u80fd\u751f\u9999\uff0c\u7ee3\u9e1f\u80fd\u542c\u58f0\uff0c\u7ee3\u864e\u80fd\u5954\u8dd1\uff0c\u7ee3\u4eba\u80fd\u4f20\u795e”\u7684\u7f8e\u8a89\u3002\u6e58\u7ee3\u4ee5\u7279\u6b8a\u7684\u9b05\u6bdb\u9488\u7ee3\u51fa\u7684\u72ee\u3001\u864e\u7b49\u52a8\u7269\uff0c\u6bdb\u4e1d\u6709\u529b\u3001\u5a01\u6b66\u96c4\u5065\u3002<\/p>\n

      \u7ca4\u7ee3\u4ea6\u79f0“\u5e7f\u7ee3”\uff0c\u6cdb\u6307\u5e7f\u4e1c\u8fd1\u4e24\u3001\u4e09\u4e2a\u4e16\u7eaa\u7684\u523a\u7ee3\u54c1\u800c\u8a00\u3002\u7ca4\u7ee3\u5386\u53f2\u60a0\u4e45\uff0c\u76f8\u4f20\u6700\u521d\u521b\u59cb\u4e8e\u5c11\u6570\u6c11\u65cf\uff0c\u4e0e\u9ece\u65cf\u6240\u5236\u7ec7\u9526\u540c\u51fa\u4e00\u6e90\u3002\u8fdc\u5728\u660e\u4ee3\uff0c\u7ca4\u7ee3\u5c31\u7528\u5b54\u96c0\u7fbd\u7f16\u7ebf\u4e3a\u7ee3\uff0c\u4f7f\u7ee3\u54c1\u91d1\u7fe0\u593a\u76ee\uff0c\u53c8\u7528\u9a6c\u5c3e\u6bdb\u7f20\u7ed2\u4f5c\u52d2\u7ebf\uff0c\u4f7f\u7ca4\u7ee3\u52fe\u52d2\u6280\u6cd5\u6709\u66f4\u597d\u8868\u73b0\uff1b\u81f3\u6e05\u4ee3\u7ca4\u7ee3\u5f97\u5230\u4e86\u66f4\u5927\u53d1\u5c55\u3002\u56fd\u5185\u6536\u85cf\u4ee5\u6545\u5bab\u85cf\u4e3a\u6700\u591a\u800c\u6709\u4ee3\u8868\u6027\u3002\u6784\u56fe\u7e41\u800c\u4e0d\u4e71\uff0c\u8272\u5f69\u5bcc\u4e3d\u593a\u76ee\uff0c\u9488\u6b65\u5747\u5300\uff0c\u9488\u6cd5\u591a\u53d8\uff0c\u7eb9\u7406\u5206\u660e\uff0c\u5584\u7559\u6c34\u8def\u3002\u7ca4\u7ee3\u54c1\u7c7b\u7e41\u591a\uff0c\u6b23\u8d4f\u54c1\u4e3b\u8981\u6709\u6761\u5e45\u3001\u6302\u5c4f\u3001\u53f0\u5c4f\u7b49\uff1b\u5b9e\u7528\u54c1\u6709\u88ab\u9762\u3001\u6795\u5957\u3001\u5e8a\u6963\u3001\u62ab\u5dfe\u3001\u5934\u5dfe\u3001\u53f0\u5e37\u548c\u7ee3\u670d\u7b49\u3002\u4e00\u822c\u591a\u4f5c\u5199\u751f\u82b1\u9e1f\uff0c\u5bcc\u4e8e\u88c5\u9970\u5473\uff0c\u5e38\u4ee5\u51e4\u51f0\u3001\u7261\u4e39\u3001\u677e\u9e64\u3001\u733f\u3001\u9e7f\u4ee5\u53ca\u9e21\u3001\u9e45\u7b49\u4e3a\u9898\u6750\uff0c\u6df7\u5408\u7ec4\u6210\u753b\u9762\u3002\u5987\u5973\u8863\u8896\u3001\u88d9\u9762\uff0c\u5219\u591a\u4f5c\u6ee1\u5730\u6298\u679d\u82b1\uff0c\u94fa\u7ed2\u6781\u8584\uff0c\u5e73\u8d34\u7d2c\u9762\u3002\u914d\u8272\u9009\u7528\u53cd\u5dee\u5f3a\u70c8\u7684\u8272\u7ebf\uff0c\u5e38\u7528\u7ea2\u7eff\u76f8\u95f4\uff0c\u7729\u8000\u4eba\u773c\uff0c\u5b9c\u4e8e\u6e32\u67d3\u6b22\u4e50\u70ed\u95f9\u6c14\u6c1b\u3002<\/p>\n

Embroidery      \u53c8\u540d“\u5ddd\u7ee3”\u3002\u662f\u4ee5\u56db\u5ddd\u6210\u90fd\u4e3a\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7684\u523a\u7ee3\u54c1\u7684\u603b\u79f0\u3002\u5386\u53f2\u60a0\u4e45\u3002\u636e\u664b\u4ee3\u5e38\u74a9\u300a\u534e\u9633\u56fd\u5fd7\u300b\u8f7d\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u8700\u4e2d\u523a\u7ee3\u5df2\u5f88\u95fb\u540d\uff0c\u540c\u8700\u9526\u9f50\u540d\uff0c\u90fd\u88ab\u8a89\u4e3a\u8700\u4e2d\u4e4b\u5b9d\u3002\u6e05\u4ee3\u9053\u5149\u65f6\u671f\uff0c\u8700\u7ee3\u5df2\u5f62\u6210\u4e13\u4e1a\u751f\u4ea7\uff0c\u6210\u90fd\u5e02\u5185\u53d1\u5c55\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u7ee3\u82b1\u94fa\uff0c\u65e2\u7ee3\u53c8\u5356\u3002\u8700\u7ee3\u4ee5\u8f6f\u7f0e\u548c\u5f69\u4e1d\u4e3a\u4e3b\u8981\u539f\u6599\u3002\u9898\u6750\u5185\u5bb9\u6709\u5c71\u6c34\u3001\u4eba\u7269\u3001\u82b1\u9e1f\u3001\u866b\u9c7c\u7b49\u3002\u9488\u6cd5\u7ecf\u521d\u6b65\u6574\u7406\uff0c\u6709\u5957\u9488\u3001\u6655\u9488\u3001\u659c\u6eda\u9488\u3001\u65cb\u6d41\u9488\u3001\u53c2\u9488\u3001\u68da\u53c2\u9488\u3001\u7f16\u7ec7\u9488\u7b49100\u591a\u79cd\u3002\u54c1\u79cd\u6709\u88ab\u9762\u3001\u6795\u5957\u3001\u7ee3\u8863\u3001\u978b\u9762\u7b49\u65e5\u7528\u54c1\u548c\u53f0\u5c4f\u3001\u6302\u5c4f\u7b49\u6b23\u8d4f\u54c1\u3002\u8700\u7ee3\u7684\u7279\u70b9\uff1a\u5f62\u8c61\u751f\u52a8\uff0c\u8272\u5f69\u9c9c\u8273\uff0c\u5bcc\u6709\u7acb\u4f53\u611f\uff0c\u77ed\u9488\u7ec6\u5bc6\uff0c\u9488\u811a\u5e73\u9f50\uff0c\u7247\u7ebf\u5149\u4eae\uff0c\u53d8\u5316\u4e30\u5bcc\uff0c\u5177\u6709\u6d53\u539a\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u7279\u8272\u3002\u8700\u7ee3\u4e2d\u4ee5\u7ee3\u5236\u9f99\u51e4\u8f6f\u7f0e\u88ab\u9762\u548c\u4f20\u7edf\u4ea7\u54c1\u300a\u8299\u84c9\u9ca4\u9c7c\u300b\u6700\u4e3a\u8457\u540d\u3002<\/p>\n
