S: It’s often used with \u4e00 ‘one’, \u4e00\u4e9b yìxi\u0113 which means ‘a number of’\uff0c‘some’\uff0c‘a few’ or maybe ‘a little’, depending on the context.<\/p>\n

 M: For example, \u53ea\u6709\u8fd9\u4e00\u4e9b\u4e86 there’s o<\/em>nly these. zh\u01d0y\u01d2u zhèi yì xi\u0113 le. Say it, zh\u01d0 y\u01d2u zhèi y\u012bxie le.<\/p>\n

S: So how do you say, In the room there are some English people?<\/p>\n

M: H\u011bn h\u01ceo. \u5728\u623f\u95f4\u91cc\u6709\u4e00\u4e9b\u82f1\u56fd\u4eba zài fángji\u0101n l\u01d0 y\u01d2u yìxi\u0113 Y\u012bnggúorén.<\/p>\n

 S: Now with ML, I intend to buy some new ones. Say it with her, and note that we know we’re talking a<\/em>bout clothes, so, as in English, it’s not necessary to say ‘clothes’.<\/p>\n

M: \u53ef\u662f\u5f97\u4f60\u4ed8\u94b1. Here I put d\u011bi before n\u01d0 to emphasize that it’s YOU who must pay. k\u011b shì d\u011bi n\u01d0 fù qián!<\/p>\n
