The name can be divided into two parts: &quot;Xinyang&quot; is its area of production &#8211; Xinyang County (now Shihe District) of Xinyang City in Dabieshan Mountainous Area of Henan Province; &quot;Maojian&quot; describes the shape of the tea leaves &#8211; hairy and with straight edges. Quality Xinyang Maojian tea has a jade-green color, straight and delicate edges, and white fur all over. The leaves are tender, verdant, and neat, and have a fresh fragrance. Premium Xinyang Maojian tea is made up of &quot;one bud, one leaf&quot;.<br \/>  \u4fe1\u9633\u6bdb\u5c16\u662f\u6cb3\u5357\u7701\u8457\u540d\u7279\u4ea7\u4e4b\u4e00\uff0c\u7d20\u6765\u4ee5&quot;\u7ec6\u3001\u5706\u3001\u5149\u3001\u76f4\u3001\u591a\u767d\u6beb\u3001\u9999\u9ad8\u3001\u5473\u6d53\u3001\u6c64\u8272\u7eff&quot;\u7684\u72ec\u7279\u98ce\u683c\u800c\u996e\u8a89\u4e2d\u5916\u3002\u7ee71915\u5e74\u5728\u9a6c\u62ff\u9a6c\u4e07\u56fd\u535a\u89c8\u4f1a\u4e0a\u83b7\u91d1\u8d28\u5956\uff0c1959\u5e74\u8bc4\u4e3a\u5168\u56fd\u5341\u5927\u540d\u8336\u4e4b\u540e\uff0c1985\u5e74\u53c8\u83b7\u5347\u56fd\u5bb6\u91d1\u8d28\u5956\uff0c1991\u5e74\u5728\u9996\u5c4a\u676d\u5dde\u56fd\u9645\u8336\u6587\u5316\u8282\u4e0a\u88ab\u6388\u4e88&quot;\u4e2d\u56fd\u8336\u6587\u5316\u540d\u8336&quot;\u79f0\u53f7\uff0c\u6210\u4e3a\u6cb3\u5357\u7701\u8336\u53f6\u751f\u4ea7\u4e0a\u7684\u7470\u5b9d\u3002<br \/>  Xinyang Maojian is a specialty of Henan Province, famous around the world for its &quot;thinness, ball shape, brightness, straightness, furriness in white, fragrance, strong taste, and jade-green tea color&quot;. In the 1915 Panama Pacific Interactio<em><\/em>nal Exposition, Xinyang Maojian won the gold medal; in 1959, it made it into the Top Ten Chinese Teas; in 1985, it was awarded Natio<em><\/em>nal Gold Medal; in 1991, it was given the title &quot;Famous Tea in Chinese Tea Culture&quot; at the First Hangzhou Internatio<em><\/em>nal Tea Culture Festival. All the above ho<em><\/em>nors mark Xinyang Maojian as an im<em><\/em>portant piece of Henan tea production.<br \/>  \u4fe1\u9633\u6bdb\u5c16\u5c5e\u4e8e\u9505\u7092\u6740\u9752\u7684\u7279\u79cd\u70d8\u9752\u7eff\u8336\u3002\u8336\u53f6\u5f62\u72b6\u4e3a\u6761\u578b\uff0c\u5e72\u8336\u8272\u6cfd\u7fe0\u7eff\u6216\u7eff\u6da6\uff1b\u6c64\u8272\u5c5e\u6d45\u7eff\u578b\uff0c\u6c64\u8272\u3001\u53f6\u5e95\u5747\u5448\u5ae9\u7eff\u660e\u4eae\uff1b\u8336\u53f6\u9999\u6c14\u5c5e\u6e05\u9999\u578b\uff0c\u5e76\u4e0d\u540c\u7a0b\u5ea6\u5730\u8868\u73b0\u51fa\u6beb\u9999\u3001\u9c9c\u5ae9\u9999\u3001\u719f\u677f\u6817\u9999\uff1b\u8336\u53f6\u6ecb\u5473\u6d53\u9187\u9c9c\u723d\u3001\u9ad8\u957f\u800c\u8010\u6ce1\u3002\u53f6\u5e95\u82bd\u53f6\u5b8c\u6574\uff0c\u5300\u79f0\u3002\u4f9d\u54c1\u8d28\u4f18\u6b21\uff0c\u5206\u4e3a\u7279\u7ea7\u3001\u4e00\u81f3\u4e94\u7ea7\u3001\u7ea7\u5916\u3002<br \/>  Xinyang Maojian leaves are dried by parching them in a wok. Bar-shaped Maojian tea leaves are jade-green when they are dry; the steeped tea leaves produce pale green soup, emanating a subtle flavor of pekoe or ripe chestnut. Even after several infusions, Maojian tea&#8217;s aroma is still present.
