{"id":7986,"date":"2019-10-11T12:28:16","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T12:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chinesemoment.com\/chinese-reading\/muslims-celebrate-corban-festival-in-china\/"},"modified":"2019-10-11T12:28:16","modified_gmt":"2019-10-11T12:28:16","slug":"muslims-celebrate-corban-festival-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chinesemoment.com\/th\/muslims-celebrate-corban-festival-in-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Muslims celebrate Corban Festival in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Millions of Muslims across China and the world celebrated the Corban Festival on Tuesday, also known as Eid al-Adha or day of sacrifice, when lambs and other animals are slaughtered.<\/p>\n<p>  Early on Tuesday morning, Muslims from Northwest China&#8217;s Xinjiang Uygur auto<em><\/em>nomous region and Ningxia Hui auto<em><\/em>nomous region and other areas wore festive outfits and attended mosques.<\/p>\n<p>  Corban Festival features family gatherings with lamb as the main dish.<\/p>\n<p>  The local governments of Ningxia and Xinjiang have extended the holiday and exempted vehicles with fewer than seven seats from expressway toll fares to allow Muslims more time to attend religious rituals and visit relatives.<\/p>\n<p>  China has more than 20 million Muslims.
