\u9ad8\u957f\u529b\u8fd8\u53f7\u53ec\u5176\u4ed6\u53f0\u8981\u5411\u4e2d\u592e\u7535\u89c6\u53f0\u770b\u9f50\uff0c\u5728\u8bed\u8a00\u89c4\u8303\u4e0a\u505a\u51fa\u4e00\u5b9a\u8c03\u6574\u3002<\/p>\n

\u4e3a\u4e86\u9632\u6b62\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u5916\u6765\u8bed\u5145\u65a5\u6c49\u8bed\u3001\u5371\u53ca\u6c49\u8bed\u8a00\u7684\u53d1\u5c55\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u5916\u6587\u5c40\u526f\u5c40\u957f\u53ca\u4e2d\u56fd\u7ffb\u8bd1\u534f\u4f1a\u526f\u4f1a\u957f\u9ec4\u53cb\u4e49\u5728\u4f1a\u4e0a\u91cd\u7533\u4e86\u4ed6\u7684\u4e09\u6761\u5efa\u8bae\u3002\u65e9\u5728\u5e74\u521d\u7684\u5168\u56fd\u653f\u534f\u4f1a\u8bae\u4e0a\uff0c\u4ed6\u4e5f\u66fe\u63d0\u4ea4\u4e86\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8bae\u6848\u3002<\/p>\n

\u9996\u5148\uff0c\u8981\u901a\u8fc7\u7acb\u6cd5\u6765\u89c4\u8303\u5916\u6765\u8bed\u5728\u51fa\u7248\u7269\u4e0a\u7684\u4f7f\u7528\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5176\u6b21\uff0c\u7ffb\u8bd1\u5de5\u4f5c\u8005\u548c\u65b0\u95fb\u8bb0\u8005\u8981\u62c5\u5f53\u8d77\u8d23\u4efb\uff0c\u59a5\u5584\u5904\u7406\u597d\u5916\u6765\u8bed\u7684\u8bd1\u5165\u5de5\u4f5c\u3002<\/p>\n

\u6700\u540e\uff0c\u5e94\u8be5\u6210\u7acb\u56fd\u5bb6\u7ffb\u8bd1\u59d4\u5458\u4f1a\u4e3a\u5916\u6587\u540d\u79f0\u53ca\u79d1\u6280\u672f\u8bed\u63d0\u4f9b\u5b98\u65b9\u7684\u6b63\u5f0f\u7ffb\u8bd1\uff0c\u5e76\u53ca\u65f6\u5728\u7f51\u7ad9\u4e0a\u516c\u5e03\u3002<\/p>\n

Media welcome rules on foreign words and acronyms<\/strong><\/p>\n

A recent ruling banning the use of English acronyms in Chinese news reporting raised a storm among Chinese netizens; but some voices in the Beijing media welcome curbs on the use of foreign words.<\/p>\n

Fu Zhenguo, director of the Science and Education Section of the People’s Daily Overseas Edition, said, "We object to directly inserting English spellings and acronyms into Chinese sentences. They should be translated into Chinese."<\/p>\n

Yu Hong, section chief of the Languages & Words Applied Administration Department under the Ministry of Education, added that "English acronyms do not fit in with Chinese, either in spoken or written forms. We should enrich our language and national culture by devising Chinese versions."<\/p>\n

But Fu cautioned that the rules be applied sparingly. "Regulations on standards for spoken and written Chinese should only be applied to major institutions serving the national culture; everyday use of language will not be affected."<\/p>\n

Fu was addressing a seminar held on April 14 in Beijing to discuss the controversy over new rules designed to protect the Chinese language.<\/p>\n

A heated debate has been underway since China Central Television (CCTV) and Beijing Television (BTV) told China Daily<\/em> that they had been ordered by a government department to avoid English abbreviations in their Chinese programs.<\/p>\n

Gao Changli from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television said he was not surprised by the negative response the announcement had provoked on the Internet. "It’s understandable that people are uncomfortable about these changes, especially the younger generation, who form the majority of Chinese netizens and have grown up surrounded by English acronyms."<\/p>\n

"But we have to preserve the purity of the Chinese language and promote our own culture. That’s our duty and our social responsibility."<\/p>\n

Gao called on local TV stations around China to follow CCTV’s example by introducing the changes.<\/p>\n

Huang Youyi, vice president of China International Publishing Group (CIPG), and vice chairman of the Translators Association of China, reiterated three suggestions he made to CPPCC National Committee earlier this year to help prevent the influx of foreign words "endangering the Chinese language".<\/p>\n

First, laws and regulations should be enacted laying down guidelines on the use of foreign words in publications.<\/p>\n

Second, translators and journalists should take greater care when dealing with foreign words.<\/p>\n

Third, a national translation committee should be set up to formulate standard translations of foreign names and technical terms and publish the results on a website.<\/p>\n
