Chinese need to use Co<\/em>nfucius to express goodwill and Americans also need to rely on Co<\/em>nfucius to express respect.
2002\u5e7410\u6708\uff0c\u51fa\u8bbf\u7f8e\u56fd\u7684\u6c5f\u6cfd\u6c11\u4e3b\u5e2d\u5728\u4e54\u6cbb·\u5e03\u4ec0\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u4e24\u6b21\u63d0\u5230\u4e86\u5b54\u5b50\u3002
While Chairman Jiang Zemin was visiting the United States in October of 2002, he mentio<\/em>ned Co<\/em>nfucius twice in the George Bush Library.
\u8c08\u5230\u718a\u732b\u95ee\u9898\u65f6\uff0c\u4ed6\u5f15\u7528\u5b54\u5b50“\u77e5\u4e4b\u4e3a\u77e5\u4e4b\uff0c\u4e0d\u77e5\u4e3a\u4e0d\u77e5\uff0c\u662f\u77e5\u4e5f”\u7684\u8bdd\uff0c\u8bf4\u660e\u81ea\u5df1\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u9886\u57df\u5e76\u975e\u4e13\u5bb6\u3002\u5728\u968f\u540e\u7684\u6f14\u8bb2\u4e2d\uff0c\u4ed6\u518d\u4e00\u6b21\u63d0\u5230\u4e86\u8fd9\u4f4d\u4e2d\u56fd\u53e4\u4ee3“\u5723\u4eba”\u3002

In the development of Sino-U.S. relation from past decades, Co<\/em>nfucius was always a necessary figure.
1972\u540e\uff0c\u4e2d\u7f8e\u5173\u7cfb\u5f00\u59cb\u7834\u51b0\uff0c\u5b54\u5b50\u7684\u89d2\u8272\u53c8“\u6447\u8eab\u4e00\u53d8”\uff0c\u6210\u4e3a\u4e2d\u7f8e\u4e24\u56fd\u76f8\u4e92\u4f20\u9012\u597d\u611f\u3001\u4ea4\u6d41\u4fe1\u606f\u7684\u6865\u6881\u3002\u540c\u4e00\u5e74\uff0c\u5c3c\u514b\u677e\u8bbf\u534e\uff0c\u53cc\u65b9\u7b7e\u8ba2\u300a\u4e0a\u6d77\u516c\u62a5\u300b\u3002\u5f53\u65f6\uff0c\u5728\u7f8e\u56fd\u5a92\u4f53\u8f7b\u677e\u7684\u82b1\u7d6e\u62a5\u9053\u91cc\uff0c\u5b54\u5b50\u590d\u6742\u7684\u996e\u98df\u539f\u5219\u88ab\u62ff\u6765\u5f62\u5bb9\u4e2d\u56fd\u63a5\u5f85\u5de5\u4f5c\u7684\u7ec6\u81f4\u8ba4\u771f\uff1b\u800c\u5728\u4e25\u8083\u7684\u5206\u6790\u62a5\u9053\u4e2d\uff0c\u5a92\u4f53\u4e5f\u715e\u6709\u4ecb\u4e8b\u5730\u63d0\u51fa\uff0c\u5f71\u54cd\u300a\u4e0a\u6d77\u516c\u62a5\u300b\u6700\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u56e0\u7d20\u4e0d\u662f\u6bdb\u6cfd\u4e1c\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u5b54\u5b50——\u516c\u62a5“\u6c42\u540c\u5b58\u5f02”\u7684\u539f\u5219\u53cd\u6620\u4e86\u5b54\u5b50\u7684\u4e2d\u5eb8\u4e4b\u9053\uff0c“\u53cd\u5bf9\u5927\u56fd\u5728\u4e9a\u6d32\u7684\u9738\u6743\u4e3b\u4e49”\u4f53\u73b0\u4e86\u5b54\u5b50\u7684\u548c\u5e73\u601d\u60f3\uff0c\u800c\u901a\u7bc7\u5bf9\u82cf\u8054\u7684\u56de\u907f\uff0c\u5219\u662f“\u5b54\u5b50\u8bb2\u6c42\u5b9e\u9645\u7684\u5199\u7167”\u3002
In 1972, Sino-U.S. relation started breaking ice and Co<\/em>nfucius turned into a bridge for the two sides to express their goodwill and information. In the same year, President Nixon visited China and signed the Shanghai Communiqué. At that time, in the informal reports by U.S. media, Confucius’ complex principle for the diet was used to describe the well-co<\/em>nsidered reception of China. So did the serious reports, the media also pointed out element that affecting the Shanghai Communiqué most was not Mao Zedong but Confucius. The principle "seek common ground while reserving differences" reflected Confucius’ idea of "doctrine of the mean", "opposing the super power’s hegemony in Asia" reflected Confucius’ idea of "peace", and no mentio<\/em>ning Soviet unio all the way reflected Confucius’ idea of being practical.
1987\u5e74\uff0c\u91cc\u6839\u653f\u5e9c\u7684\u56fd\u52a1\u537f\u8212\u5c14\u8328\u8bbf\u95ee\u4e2d\u56fd\u65f6\uff0c\u884c\u7a0b\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u5b89\u6392\u4e4b\u4e00\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u53bb\u66f2\u961c\u62dc\u8c12\u5b54\u5b50\u6545\u91cc\u3002\u5728\u5c71\u4e1c\u7684\u6b22\u8fce\u4eea\u5f0f\u4e0a\uff0c\u8212\u5c14\u8328\u70ed\u60c5\u79f0\u8d5e\u9053\uff1a“\u5b54\u5b50\u7684\u6559\u8bf2\u5c06\u7ee7\u7eed\u3001\u5e76\u4e14\u6c38\u8fdc\u662f\u4eba\u7c7b\u7684\u667a\u6167\u6e90\u6cc9\u3002”
In 1987, while George Shultz was visiting China, an im<\/em>portant arrangement of his journey was to visit Confucius’ hometown. In the welcome ceremony from Shandong, Shultz enthusiastically said that Confucius’ edification would co<\/em>ntinue and forever be a source of wisdom for the human being.
“\u4e2d\u56fd\u4eba\u9700\u8981\u7528\u5b54\u5b50\u7684\u540d\u5b57\u6765\u4f20\u9012\u597d\u611f\uff0c\u7f8e\u56fd\u4eba\u4e5f\u9700\u8981\u501f\u52a9\u5b54\u5b50\u6765\u8868\u8fbe\u5bf9\u4e2d\u56fd\u7684\u5c0a\u91cd\u3002”\u5f20\u6d9b\u8bc4\u8bba\u8bf4\u3002

\u5982\u4eca\uff0c\u5728\u65b0\u65f6\u671f\u7684\u5916\u4ea4\u821e\u53f0\u4e0a\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u4e5f\u5728\u8bd5\u7740\u53d1\u6325“\u5b54\u5b50”\u7684\u9b45\u529b\uff0c\u5851\u9020\u548c\u5e73\u5d1b\u8d77\u7684\u5f62\u8c61\u3002
Currently, on the diplomatic stage of the new era, China is still trying to carry forward Confucius’ charm and build up a peacefully rising image.
