{"id":10149,"date":"2019-11-17T11:06:12","date_gmt":"2019-11-17T11:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chinesemoment.com\/chinese-reading\/world-heritage-sites\/"},"modified":"2019-11-17T11:06:12","modified_gmt":"2019-11-17T11:06:12","slug":"world-heritage-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chinesemoment.com\/vi\/world-heritage-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"World Heritage Sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><strong>The famous ancient Silk Road and China&#8217;s Grand Canal, the  world&#8217;s lo<em><\/em>ngest artificial waterway, were inscribed on the list of World  Heritage Sites here on Sunday.<br \/>  \u8457\u540d\u7684\u53e4\u4ee3\u4e1d\u7ef8\u4e4b\u8def\u548c\u4e16\u754c\u4e0a\u6700\u957f\u7684\u4eba\u5de5\u6cb3\u4e2d\u56fd\u5927\u8fd0\u6cb3\u5468\u65e5\u5df2\u7ecf\u6b63\u5f0f\u88ab\u5217\u5165\u4e16\u754c\u9057\u4ea7\u540d\u5f55\u3002<\/p>\n<p>  <\/strong><strong><strong>Jointly submitted(\u8054\u5408\u7533\u62a5)<\/strong> by China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the application for adding part of the <strong>Silk Road(\u4e1d\u7ef8\u4e4b\u8def),<\/strong> which served as a <strong>corridor(\u8d70\u5eca)<\/strong> for <strong>trade and cultural exchanges(\u5546\u4e1a\u6587\u5316\u4ea4\u6d41)<\/strong>  between Asia and Europe dating back to 2,000 years ago, to the UN  Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) list was <strong>approved(\u6279\u51c6)<\/strong> by the <strong>World Heritage Committee(\u4e16\u754c\u9057\u4ea7\u59d4\u5458\u4f1a)<\/strong> at a session in the Qatari capital.<br \/>  &nbsp;<br \/>  The application co<em><\/em>nsists of 33 <strong>historical sites(\u9057\u8ff9)<\/strong> along the millennium-old trade route, including 22 in China, eight in Kazakhstan and three in Kyrgyzstan. They range from<strong> palaces(\u5bab\u6bbf)<\/strong> and <strong>pagoda(\u5b9d\u5854)<\/strong> sites in cities to<strong> ruins(\u5e9f\u589f)<\/strong> in remote, inaccessible <strong>deserts(\u6c99\u6f20).<\/strong><br \/>  &nbsp;<br \/>  Participants at the meeting said the 1,794-km <strong>canal(\u8fd0\u6cb3),<\/strong> which runs from Beijing to Hangzhou in China&#8217;s eastern Zhejiang province, is a valuable fruit of the Chinese people&#8217;s <strong>diligence(\u52e4\u52b3)<\/strong> and <strong>wisdom(\u667a\u6167),<\/strong> adding that its inclusion has <strong>enriched(\u5145\u5b9e)<\/strong> the co<em><\/em>ntent of the World Heritage. <\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p><strong>\u91cd\u70b9\u8bcd\u6c47 Key Words\uff1a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u4e1d\u7ef8\u4e4b\u8def s\u012b ch&oacute;u zh\u012b l&ugrave;<br \/>  <\/strong>Silk Road<\/p>\n<p>The Silk Road is a series of trade and cultural transmission routes  that were central to cultural interaction through regions of the Asian  co<em><\/em>ntinent co<em><\/em>nnecting the West and East by l<em><\/em>inking traders, merchants,  pilgrims, monks, soldiers, nomads, and urban dwellers from China to the  Mediterranean Sea during various periods of time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u5927\u8fd0\u6cb3 d&agrave; y&ugrave;n h&eacute; <br \/>  <\/strong>Grand Canal<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Canal is the lo<em><\/em>ngest canal or artificial river in the  world; it is a famous tourist destination. Starting at Beijing, it  passes through Tianjin and the provinces of Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and  Zhejiang to the city of Hangzhou, l<em><\/em>inking the Yellow River and Yangtze  River.
