Pottery shards were found at the prehistorical site wher the Li natio<em><\/em>nality had lived and relevant references of pottery making were also found in docu<em><\/em>ments. It was noted in Zhu Fan Zhi (Records of Foreign Peoples) of Song Dynasty that the Li natio<em><\/em>nality used soil to make kettles and gourds to make utensils and Tian Xia Jun Guo Li Bing Shu (On Benefit and Faults of the Empire&#8217;s Local Administration) by Gu Yanwu of Qing Dynasty that the Li natio<em><\/em>nality made fine linen and ropes with bark and kettles with pot clay. The Li natio<em><\/em>nality primordial pottery making skills are preserved in areas wher Ha dialect, Run dialect, Sai dialect and Meifu dialect are spoken.<br \/>  \u9ece\u65cf\u5236\u9676\u5de5\u5177\u5305\u62ec\u6728\u6775\u3001\u6728\u81fc\u3001\u6728\u62cd\u3001\u6728\u522e\u53ca\u7af9\u5200\u3001\u868c\u58f3\u3001\u94bb\u5b54\u7af9\u68cd\u3001\u7af9\u57ab\u7b49\uff0c\u5236\u9676\u8fc7\u7a0b\u7531\u6316\u9676\u3001\u6311\u9676\u571f\u3001\u6652\u9676\u571f\u3001\u7c89\u788e\u9676\u571f\u3001\u7b5b\u9676\u571f\u3001\u548c\u6ce5\u3001\u5236\u576f\u3001\u5e72\u71e5\u3001\u51c6\u5907\u70e7\u9676\u3001\u70b9\u706b\u70e7\u9676\u3001\u53d6\u9676\u3001\u52a0\u56fa\u7b4912\u4e2a\u6b65\u9aa4\u7ec4\u6210\u3002\u5236\u6210\u54c1\u4e3b\u8981\u6709\u91dc\u3001\u7511\u3001\u74ee\u3001\u7897\u3001\u7f50\u3001\u84b8\u9152\u5668\u3001\u84b8\u996d\u5668\u7b49\u5668\u578b\u3002<br \/>  Tools used in Li natio<em><\/em>nality primordial pottery making include wooden pestles, wooden mortars, wooden scrapers, bamboo knives, clam shells, drilling bamboo sticks, and bamboo mats. The pottery making process co<em><\/em>nsists of 12 steps: excavating of pot clay, selecing of pot clay, drying of pot clay in the sun, crushing of pot clay, screening of pot clay, pot clay mixing, blanking, drying, preparation for pottery firing, pottery firing, taking out, and reinforcement. Finished products are mainly kettles, rice pots, urns, bowls, jars, wine distillers and rice cookers.<br \/>  \u5236\u576f\u6280\u827a\u4ece\u4e00\u4e2a\u4fa7\u9762\u53cd\u6620\u51fa\u9ece\u65cf\u539f\u59cb\u5236\u9676\u6280\u827a\u7684\u6c34\u5e73\uff0c\u5b83\u5305\u62ec\u634f\u5236\u3001\u6ce5\u6761\u76d8\u7b51\u3001\u5feb\u8f6e\u5236\u9676\u7b49\u3002\u6ce5\u7247\u8d34\u7b51\u6cd5\u3001\u6ce5\u6761\u76d8\u7b51\u6cd5\u3001\u5feb\u8f6e\u62c9\u576f\u6cd5\u7b49\u5236\u576f\u65b9\u6cd5\u81f3\u4eca\u4ecd\u5728\u9ece\u65cf\u5730\u533a\u4fdd\u7559\u7740\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u6ce5\u6761\u76d8\u7b51\u5177\u6709\u4e0d\u7528\u7fbc\u548c\u6599\u3001\u5236\u9676\u5de5\u5177\u7b80\u5355\u3001\u9732\u5929\u70e7\u9676\u3001\u6ca1\u6709\u9676\u8f66\u548c\u9676\u8f6e\u3001\u5668\u578b\u5c11\u7b49\u7279\u70b9\uff0c\u7b80\u4fbf\u5b9e\u7528\u3002<br \/>  Blanking techniques, reflecting the level of the Li natio<em><\/em>nality primordial pottery making skills from one aspect, include kneading method, clay-strip forming method and fast-wheel pottery making method. Clay-sheet sticking method, clay-strip forming method and wheel casting method are still preserved in the regions inhabited by Li nationality. The clay-strip forming method is characterized by no admixtures, simple pottery tools, pottery firing in open air, no pottery jiggers or potter&#8217;s wheels, and a few shapes, and it is simple and practical. \u6ce5\u6761\u76d8\u7b51\u6cd5\u4e4b\u7c7b\u7684\u539f\u59cb\u5236\u9676\u5de5\u827a\u81f3\u4eca\u5728\u6d77\u5357\u5c9b\u660c\u6c5f\u9ece\u65cf\u81ea\u6cbb\u53bf\u77f3\u788c\u9547\u5927\u5761\u5730\u533a\u4ecd\u6709\u4f20\u627f\uff0c\u8fd9\u5bf9\u53f2\u524d\u5236\u9676\u53f2\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u5177\u6709\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u542f\u793a\u4f5c\u7528\u3002\u4f46\u662f\uff0c\u968f\u7740\u793e\u4f1a\u7684\u53d1\u5c55\u3001\u751f\u6d3b\u6c34\u5e73\u7684\u63d0\u9ad8\u548c\u793e\u4f1a\u6587\u5316\u7684\u8d8b\u540c\uff0c\u74f7\u5668\u3001\u73bb\u7483\u5668\u3001\u91d1\u5c5e\u5668\u3001\u5851\u6599\u5668\u7b49\u66ff\u4ee3\u9676\u5668\u8fdb\u5165\u65e5\u5e38\u751f\u6d3b\uff0c\u9ece\u65cf\u5236\u9676\u9010\u6e10\u840e\u7f29\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f&ldquo;\u6587\u9769&rdquo;\u671f\u95f4\uff0c\u51e0\u4e4e\u5168\u90e8\u505c\u4ea7\u3002\u73b0\u5728\u61c2\u5f97\u5236\u9676\u7684\u9ece\u65cf\u827a\u4eba\u5be5\u5be5\u65e0\u51e0\uff0c\u5236\u9676\u6280\u827a\u6fd2\u4e34\u6d88\u4ea1\uff0c\u4e9f\u5f85\u91c7\u53d6\u5207\u5b9e\u63aa\u65bd\u786e\u4fdd\u5176\u4f20\u627f\u3002<br \/>  The primordial pottery making skills such as clay-strip forming method are still alive in Dapo, Shilu Town, Changjiang Li Auto<em><\/em>nomous County, Hainan Province, and are significantly inspiratio<em><\/em>nal for the study of prehistorical pottery making. But, with social development, improvement of living standard and assimilation of social cultures, porcelain ware, glass ware, me<em><\/em>tal ware and plastic ware took the place of pottery in daily life and the Li nationality&rsquo;s pottery making gradually declined and was almost completely shut down during the &ldquo;Culture Revolution&rdquo;. As there are few Li handicraftsmen that master pottery making skills now, the skills are dying out.
