\u6768\u5bb6\u5c06 Yáng ji\u0101 jiàng has been one of my favorite Chinese stories since my childhood. It was first created in Song Dynesty as a novel and then passed on generation after generation to today. It was ba<\/em>sed on the true story of a famous general and his seven sons – a family of brave warriors that fought with intruders from Liao for decades. I’d like to introduce you to the book on this Learn Chinese o<\/em>nline blog, but I think the original novel was full of classic Chinese that might be too tough for you to learn.<\/p>\n

I remember the first version I read a<\/em>bout this story was from “Small People Book” \u5c0f\u4eba\u4e66 xi\u01ceo rén sh\u016b – a cartoon like book with pictures and words for younger readers to read in the 70′s and 80′s China. It disappeared near the end of 80′s:<\/p>\n

Later on, I watched a very old version TV episode of \u6768\u5bb6\u5c06 Yáng ji\u0101 jiàng and was so inspired and touched by the story. In 2009, \u6768\u5bb6\u5c06 Yáng ji\u0101 jiàng is remade into TV episodes with a new name: \u5c11\u5e74\u6768\u5bb6\u5c06 shào nián Yáng ji\u0101 jiàng – Young Warriors of the Yang Clan. I o<\/em>nly started to watch some of them, will finish in a while.<\/p>\n
