Of Han nationality, Co<em><\/em>nfucius was born second in a family in the Chinese State of Lu in the Spring-and-Autumn Period. According to tradition, he is said to have been born in Changping village, Zouyi, the State of Lu (now Luyuan village, Nanxin town, southeastern Qufu city, Shandong Province), to have died at the age of 73 and to have been buried in Beisishui, Qufu, wher today the Co<em><\/em>nfucian Cemetery lies. His teachings may be found in the Analects of Confucius, a collection of aphorisms, and The Hereditary House of Co<em><\/em>nfucius Records of the Historian preserved in the pre-Qin Period, the Qin Dynasty and the Han Dynasty.
