"\u8033" is a pictographic character with its ancient form resembling the shape of an ear. Its original meaning is "ear". Because ears are on both sides of the head, the character "\u8033" is also used to refer to things on two sides of something. For example, the handlebars of Chinese earthen jars are also called "\u8033". "\u8033\u95e8" refers to the side door on either side of a gate.
