There are two forms of this pattern, the &quot;simple&quot; one (using \u6765), and the more complex one (which uses two different adjectives\/verbs) in Chinese grammar.<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Basic Structure with \u8d8a\u6765\u8d8a <\/strong><br \/>  \tThis structure expresses that something is becoming more and more adjective over time, with the latter adjective changing with the verb. The most common structure is:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Examples <\/strong>  \t<\/p>\n<div>Q&igrave; y&oacute;u yu&egrave; l&aacute;i yu&egrave; \u0261u&igrave;.<br \/>  \t\u6c7d\u6cb9 \u8d8a \u6765 \u8d8a \u8d35\u3002<\/div>\n<div>Gasoline is getting more and more expensive. <\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Complex Structure with \u8d8a &#8230; \u8d8a &#8230;<\/strong><br \/>  \tThis structure can be expanded further by replacing \u6765 with another verb. This expresses that one change causes another change. To be exact, there are four structures to use. (The examples make it clear how this works.)<br \/>  \t<strong>Structure 1 <\/strong><br \/>  \t  \t<strong>Examples <\/strong>  \t<\/p>\n<div>Ti\u01ceo zh&agrave;n yu&egrave; d&agrave;, w\u01d2 yu&egrave; x\u012bn\u0261 f&egrave;n.<br \/>  \t\u6311\u6218 \u8d8a \u5927\uff0c\u6211 \u8d8a \u5174\u594b\u3002<\/div>\n<div>The bigger the challenge is, the more excited I am.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Structure 2<\/strong>  \t<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Examples <\/strong>  \t<\/p>\n<div>T\u0101 yu&egrave; b&ugrave; \u0261\u0101o x&igrave;n\u0261, ji&ugrave; yu&egrave; b&ugrave; shu\u014d hu&agrave;.<br \/>  \t\u5979 \u8d8a \u4e0d\u9ad8\u5174\uff0c\u5c31 \u8d8a \u4e0d\u8bf4\u8bdd\u3002<\/div>\n<div>The more upset , the less she talks.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Structure 3 <\/strong><br \/>  \t  \t<strong>Examples<\/strong>  \t<\/p>\n<div>W\u01d2 yu&egrave; xu&eacute; x&iacute; zh\u014dn\u0261 w&eacute;n, yu&egrave; ju&eacute; d&eacute; zh\u014dn\u0261 w&eacute;n h\u011bn n&aacute;n.<br \/>  \t\u6211 \u8d8a \u5b66\u4e60 \u4e2d\u6587\uff0c\u8d8a \u89c9\u5f97 \u4e2d\u6587 \u5f88 \u96be\u3002<\/div>\n<div>The more I study Chinese, the more difficult I think it is. <\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Structure 4 <\/strong>  \t  \t<\/p>\n<div>T\u0101 yu&egrave; h\u0113 t&agrave;n su\u0101n y\u01d0n li&agrave;o yu&egrave; p&agrave;n\u0261.<br \/>  \t\u4ed6 \u8d8a \u559d \u78b3\u9178\u996e\u6599 \u8d8a \u80d6\u3002<\/div>\n<div>The more he drinks soda, the fatter he gets.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Complex Structure with Complement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  \tYou can also use &quot;\u8d8a&#8230;\u8d8a&#8230;&quot; with a complement. In this case, &quot;\u8d8a&quot; has to follow the &quot;\u5f97&quot;.
