In general, simple sentences are composed of a subject and a predicate. Sentences can also be classified as either subject-predicate sentences or non subject-predicate sentences. Subject-predicate sentences use a subject section and a predicate section. For instance,<\/p>\n<p>  \t\u6211\u5b66\u4e60\u82f1\u8bed (w\u01d2 xu&eacute;x&iacute; y\u012bngy\u01d4)\u3002I study English. (&quot;\u4ed6&quot; is the subject section and &quot;\u5b66\u4e60\u82f1\u8bed&quot; is the predicate section.)<br \/>  \t\u5bb6\u91cc\u5f88\u5e72\u51c0 (ji\u0101l\u01d0 h\u011bn g\u0101nj&igrave;ng)\u3002The house is very clean. (&quot;\u5bb6\u91cc&quot; is the predicate section and &quot;\u5f88\u5e72\u51c0&quot; is the predicate section.)<\/p>\n<p>  \tSubject-predicate sentences can be divided into those with a verbal predicate, those adjectival predicate, those with a nominal predicate, and those with a subject-predicate phrase as the predicate.<\/p>\n<p>  \tNon subject-predicate sentences can be classified as subjectless sentences, one word sentences, and elliptical sentences. Simple sentences can be classified as declarative sentences, interrogative sentences, imperative sentences, or exclamatory sentences.<\/p>\n<p>  \tOther Simple Sentence<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>One Word Sentences<\/strong><br \/>  \tOne word sentences contain only a single word or a single endocentric phrase. They are used to express time or place, praise, a discovery, a warning, to address someone, agreement, opposition, or a question. For instance,<\/p>\n<p>  \t\u5c0f\u5fc3 (xi\u01ceox\u012bn)\uff01Be careful!<br \/>  \t\u5e72\u561b (g&agrave;n ma) What&rsquo;s wrong.<br \/>  \t\u51b3\u4e0d (ju&eacute; b&ugrave;)\uff01No way!<br \/>  \t\u771f\u7f8e (zh\u0113n m\u011bi)\uff01So beautiful!<\/p>\n<p>  \t<strong>Elliptical Sentences<br \/>  \t<\/strong>In an elliptical sentence only a part of the whole sentence is spoken because the meaning can be understood from the context. Elliptical sentences are often used in conversation. For instance,<\/p>\n<p>  \t\u4f60\u53bb\u4e0d\u53bb (n\u01d0 q&ugrave; b&uacute; q&ugrave;)\uff1fAre you going or not?\uff08\u6211\uff09\u4e0d\u53bb\u3002No. I am not going. (The subject is omitted.)<br \/>  \t\u4f60\u60f3\u559d\u70b9\u513f\u4ec0\u4e48 (n\u01d0 xi\u01ceng h\u0113 di\u01cen&#39;er sh&eacute;nme)\uff1f\u6211\u60f3\u559d\u679c\u6c41 (w\u01d2 xi\u01ceng h\u0113 gu\u01d2zh\u012b)\u3002What&nbsp;would you like to drink?
