The prototypes of this style of historiography are the &quot;Spring and Autumn Annals&quot; of the state of Lu \u9c81, the Chunqiu \u6625\u79cb, and the &quot;Bamboo Annals&quot; Zhushu jinian \u7af9\u4e66\u7eaa\u5e74. The style was revived in Sima Guang&#39;s \u53f8\u9a6c\u5149 Zizhi tongjian \u8d44\u6cbb\u901a\u9274.<\/p>\n<p>  \tGenerally speaking, the chronicle style is the more natural method to record historical events, and therefore, the veritable records (shilu \u5b9e\u5f55), the court annals, were written in this style.
